could you work...on your feet....if...

you had zero breaks for 7 hours. literally no sitting breaks or lunch breaks?

my job is making me feel that i am a big baby since other preggos have done it in the past i am 7 1/2 months tomorrow btw.

some days no issues i work on my feet for 8-9 hours but get tiny breaks here and there..other days no breaks. this is appt based so cant complain to hr bc we dont have one.

thoughts?

Um, isnt that illegal? Arent you suppose to get a break if you work more than 6hrs in one shift?? Unfortunately at my job its kind of similiar but if I wanted a break I could take one. But sometimes I go 6hrs without one..

I do not think you are being a big baby. Everyone is different. If other women were able to do it, god bless. However, I know I would not be one of them! I know myself....

Isn't it a law that workers have to get at least a half hour lunch if working over 6 hrs?

I def know I wouldnt be able to do that. This past weekend I was on my feet all day cleaning/organizing my house, making Sunday dinner and took my dogs for a walk. By Sunday night I was in tears and my DH needed to rub my back and bum b/c I was in so much pain. If you cant do it, please don't push yourself. Like man, not all preggos are created equal.

Umm hell NO!!! 1st off no breaks is illegal, you are pregnant and need to rest your feet and eat. Id tell my boss to shove it far up her a$$!!!! Please I may be leaving my job 2 months early instead of 1 cause she is trying to screw me over.
Seriously take a break if they have a problem call your doctor.

Helllllls no!! Granted I have a desk job so I'm not even remotely used to standing all day but after an hour my back is already killing me. That seems really harsh and unfair of them to make you feel bad! Chat Icon

i think it's pretty cruel & inhumane of your employers to not have any compassion for the fact that you are pregnant. carrying around all that weight it not fun! i remember when i was pregnant with DS.. i couldnt even stand for more than 10mins to cook dinner.. i had to get a stool and sit while i prepped dinner and cooked it.. tell them to eff off!

Re: could you work...on your feet....if...

I work in the same type of industry (salon/day spa) with my first dc I worked 10 hrs 4x a week I worked up until 37 weeks but by week 30 i cut my hours to 3x a week 7 hrs a day what a relief that was.. Can you do something like that? I totally understand what you are going through as I am 26 weeks and get 0 breaks I scarf my lunch down in a corner of the spa! I am also on my feet 7 hrs straight nobody has sympathy for us preggers! But if you do feel it's getting to be too much speak up! The squeaky wheel always gets the greaseChat Icon hang in there you're almost at the end then the real fun begins Chat Icon
