see, now if I were the judge, I would have left that jerk in jail for a nice LONG holiday weekend!!!!!!!!!
since bail HAD to be offered, it should certainly have been much HIGHER than $1,000
and that 'father' is just as moronic as his son!!!!! GROWING PAINS???? Drinking and driving isn't part of growing up, it's ILLEGAL, and someone could have been KILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! asshats!!!!!!!!!
thank goodness noone was hurt!!!! (or worse)
ITA! You said it perfect! This story is unreal!

Re: Could you imagine???
The thought of being killed by a drunk driver while in your home is mind boggling - and the fact that the guy was asleep downstairs on his couch is a blessing. No words. Unbelievable....

I just read this story and am sickened by what the dad said. "These kids have growing pains." What type of ***** growing pain was this? THAT is what the parent says?????? That disgusts me!

unfortunately its the parents in this situation who are not strict and don't have enough consequences for their kids. in my experience parents today are just so lenient its almost like they give up raising their kids to be good people

Careful.....Some parents are too lenient. Not all. And that's the way it's always been. Every generation has it's own set of bad parents.....no need to group us all together.

Seriously, that must have been some speed to get that high.
We nearly had that happen a few years ago, when a teen driver at 7:30 in the morning lost control on a curve in our road, over-corrected, careened across our lawn, smashing into our 2 cars and stopping just inches - and I mean INCHES - from our house. Had our cars not "stopped" his crashed, we might have had something similar!
The police said it was a very high rate of speed and that they hit a berm (which is a mound of dirt of some sort) right off the street near the house and that is how he went airborne and catapulted up. I could not believe the pics and the way he landed but was at the father. Take some resposibility for your kid. These poor people have to now fix what once was a lovely entrance way to THEIR home and he is lucky no one was killed.
