Could use some prayers
I'm trying so hard to not have a total breakdown here, but I think I might need some words of encouragement to help me along.
Short history - when I was doing my IF testing, I had tested a "weak positive" for a blood clotting disorder. I saw a specialist and she had me repeat the test to see if the positive result had increased. I found out I was pregnant the day after I re-tested. Luckily the results had come back the same so neither she nor my OB were too concerned. I have to repeat the same test every 3 months. I have been on a baby aspirin daily, and my OB just does more sonos and tests than what is routine to make sure the baby is growing the way she should. I had my 20 week growth sono last week and everything looked great.
Fast forward to today - I retested last week. The specialist called and said that the result came back significantly higher this time. HOWEVER, she said I had gone to the wrong lab, and she does not find them to be as reliable. She wants me to re-test tomorrow at the correct lab and she should have the results back in a few day. She already spoke with my OB and told him what was going on. I just got off the phone with him, and he wanted to reassure me that while everything has progressed very well so far, if the results come back high again, my baby is at risk for growth problems and possibly stillbirth. He said it is treatable with daily injections though, but we would need to get that started right away.
I'm so scared. DH says he is sure it is just a fluke and that if the Doctors seem to feel that it is a mistake, than I should too, but all I can think about is how I have to wait the next few days to get these results and imagine the worst that can happen in that short time.
If you read this far - thank you.

Re: Could use some prayers
ok def dont jump to conclusions and assume the worst!!! lots of us on here have blood clotting issues, unless you have already developed a clot in the placenta or cord, which it doesnt seem like you have if you just had a perfect anatomy scan, then you really dont need to be completely distraught about it. chances are good that they caught the elevated levels in time (if it is even elevated and not a lab issue), and all you would likely have to do is add lovenox or something similar every day. these things are soooo treatable as long as they are caught in time.
try to stay positive!!

Re: Could use some prayers
I hope that the test results were wrong, but, if not, please don't stress about the thought of injections. My first daughter, Sarah, was stillborn...after that, I was tested and found out I have thrombophilia. For my second pregnancy, I was on baby aspirin, as well as the lovenox injections. My second daughter, Katelyn, was born 4 weeks ago tomorrow, and is perfect.
Don't stress out - but, if you have to take the injections, then you and your baby will be fine.

Re: Could use some prayers
I think they are referring to Lovenox-I've been on it every time I get pregnant and it really is not so bad.
You have to give yourself 1 or 2 injections daily but you get over that quickly.
The bug risk to not being on it is miscarriage due to a clot. However-you are past that since if you need it you will be on it very soon-I would thank my lucky stars that they are retesting you Also, the Asprin you are already on is a blood thinner as well, so you've been doing something all along, you may just need something stronger

Re: Could use some prayers
Thank you everyone . I'm anxious but thinking positive for now. My little started kicking me shortly after I calmed myself down and it made me feel so much better, as if she was letting me know she is ok in there .
Thanks again ladies. You are all awesome!
