Their checkout lines are better, and employees a little more responsible. I get pissed off every time I walk into bj's - long lines, employees bs'ing instead of working, etc. In terms of selection, we have both and go to both becomes there's some things one stocks that another doesn't. We prefer costco in general though, more for the reasons stated above. And I prefer their store brand over bj's We love Costco for many reasons, but the first reason above has a lot to do with it. We like how they treat their employees, and last I heard their CEO is not a money-hungry jerk with an eye on his salary. The employees at the Costco we go to in BK are always pleasant and friendly and know their store. That's what you get when you pay people a decent salary and offer great benefits. I am pretty sure they are union, and I am a huge union supporter.
