Cornbread suggestions
Ds's daycare is having a Thanksgiving feast next week and we are signed up to provide the cornbread.
Can anyone recommend their favorite recipe or better yet...their favorite box brand?

Re: Cornbread suggestions
This is a very easy recipe to make and it is so good. It is moister than a regular cornbread but I like it better (I have already gotten numerous requests from family to make it for thanksgiving). I dont top it with butter and I add a tbs of sugar.
Corn Souffle PRE HEAT OVEN TO 350 1 can of whole corn 1 can of cream corn 1 box jiffy corn muffin mix 3 eggs 1/4 cup mayo 1 cup sour cream butter to top souffle after you mix all ingredients together mix all the wet ingredients together then add the muffin mix. place ingredients into a casserole (oven proof) dish. top with butter. bake at 350 for about 1 hour. it needs to be firm through out.

Re: Cornbread suggestions
Trader Joe's has a great boxed cornbread! It's cheap and relatively healthy!

Re: Cornbread suggestions
This is a delicious cornbread recipe - it's a sweeter cornbread, which I think kids love!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup yellow cornmeal 2/3 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon salt 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 egg 1 cup milk 1/3 cup vegetable oil
DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray or lightly grease a 9 inch round cake pan. In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt and baking powder. Stir in egg, milk and vegetable oil until well combined. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
Cornbread... ain't nothin' wrong with that! (I anyone who gets that reference!)

Re: Cornbread suggestions
Honestly, I found the best box, actually bag brand but not sure if you have them on the East coast. I would send them to you if you need since they make the most wonderful cornbread.
Marie Callender's in a bag for about $2.
