Cookware set needed- need advice
DH is really into cooking, and we def need a new cookware set- EVERYthing... im not looking to go cheap, but how expensive is "too" expensive? i hear that aluminum is the best to cook with, and something about "clad" in the name...??
does anyone have any experience or know much about this to help me out in a really nice b-day present for him?

Re: Cookware set needed- need advice
are you thinking of all-clad? That's the set I am dying to get but it's and i don't cook enough to justify getting it just yet... one of these days though.

Re: Cookware set needed- need advice
so, i guess "all clad" is the brand name???
and not what it is made of?
i am CLUELESS when it comes to this stuff- but greg loves cooking, and he would totally cook SO much more if we had the "good" stuff....
i just hear all clad is not a lot of bang for the buck, to go with something "made" out of the same stuff....??

We choose to go stainless. We got a nice Emeril set at Bed Bath and Beyond. It is made by All Clad which got great ratings but is very expensive. We really like the set so far

Re: Cookware set needed- need advice
We have the Calphalon Tri-ply aluminum and stainless steel set. We paid about $400. The same set by all clad is $800. Yes, All Clad is the brand, it is what the pros use. It is very good quality.

Pampered Chef has AMAZING cookware - both aluminum and non-stick.
If you host a party you can get them at half price.

We have the 5-ply Kitchen-Aid set and LOVE it. Water heats up almost instantly. Got it at Fortunoff.
