Is it bad that I am not a fan of home cooked meaks? I will take take out, fast food and restaurants any day!
I would if it was not so costly

Cooking on the weekend?
I made tacos today! But, we do eat a lot of take out. It's getting unhealthy and expensive, so I need to cook more often!

Re: Cooking on the weekend?
I haven’t cooked on the weekends in awhile. My DH is constantly working 60-70 hour weeks (even though most is work from home) but running 4 kids to sports/activities etc I’m done come Friday night. So we tend to do easy take out Friday (pizza, Chinese) and then we go out to a restaurant with the kids on Saturday (unless we have the babysitter for a date) and then we do Sunday brunch after church. I’d say we spend a little more than $200 a weekend on meals out, but we are a family of 6, so Applebee’s runs us $100 easy.

That’s how I’m feeling last night we BBQed, first time we cooked on a Friday in over a year. tonight we ordered sandwiches from Sea-port deli so it was pretty inexpensive compared to what we are used to! I just feel like all the take out is packing ona few lbs and taking a few more $$$ away then I care for!!

Cooking on the weekend?
We also do a quick takeout on Fridays and will eat out either Saturday or Sunday, depending on what our plans are. We can easily spend over $200 a weekend but we have tried to cut down. For years I wouldn't cook at all on the weekends but we found we were eating and spending too much. We try to limit our weekend spending to $150.

Re: Cooking on the weekend?
I usually only cook on sundays (Sunday mornings are grocery shopping). I will pick up a pizza Friday nights on my way home from work, that’s only about $18 and cheaper than any other option. Saturday nights the kids get Perdue nuggets and dh and I have “date night” after they go to bed - usually Chinese food. Or if we go out to the diner as a family we are looking at around $60. So I’d say including Sunday grocery item expenses we are spending around $100- $125. We try to look for inexpensive options.

Re: Cooking on the weekend?
I always cook on the weekends...it's easier for me because I am not working and I love to cook! I also try to prep for the next week. Today I have made the filling for chicken lettuce cups, an orange garlic shredded pork, and a tray of chicken enchiladas for the week. Our weeknights are so busy that we eat take out if I don't get really prepared and we spend a fortune when we do that.

Re: Cooking on the weekend?
Unless we have plans we other people, we usually only go out 1 night on the weekend (usually Friday) and cook the other 2. We usually go out 1 weekday night too, because cooking every night after work gets too hectic.

I need to start doing this. I absolutely hate dinner during the week. DH used to do the majority of the cooking during the week, but his job responsibilities get him home super late now.

Hell no. Friday is take out. Nice treat after cooking and eating the usual suspects all week long.
Saturday night we go out to dinner. I find it very depressing to sit in the house on a Saturday night and eat a home cooked meal. That's just me.
same, i hate eating in on the weekends!!!
