confused and annoyed ...updated
Afr 5 IUI's and 5 negatives , I went in for my day 3 blood and sono this morning. I was told I have a cyst. I have never had one. I was then told that maybe it could be an egg left over from last cycle. Either way, I was told that I will be told what to do when they call me later with the results of my blood work. I am used to this. Three o'clock comes, four o'clock comes, five o'clock comes...NO PHONE CALL. Now this has never happened. I call and of course the nurses line is closed until tomorrow. I call the receptionist, who takes my info and comes back after a few minutes and says "oh yea take yoru medicine". I was like who said that? Do you have any info on my "cyst"? I got no answers. I am jsut so annoyed and I think it was unprofessional that I ddin't get to speak to a nurse or doctor about my condition. I am just frustrated. I plan on taking the medicine and going in tomorrow morning to talk to someone.
Has anyone ever had a cyst while trying to conceive? Does it affect the outcome in anyway?
Thanks :forlorn
Finally got to speak with a nurse. It is a cyst but like people said my estrogen was low so. I started follistim again. Fingers crossed. Thanks for listening.

confused and annoyed
I don't have experience with cysts but I would call the on call line and ask to speak with a MD before it gets too late. They should have access to your record and be able ot answer any questions or concerns you have. This is what they are there for especially if you are unsure what to do about taking medicine or what effect it coul dhave on your body.
It will make you feel better!

confused and annoyed
I have had several cysts during cycles... Depending on how large they are and if they produce estrogen I have had a cycle canceled. If its small enough they have let me proceed. It all depends on the size and your e2 level. If you do have an estrogen producing cyst and you take meds it could make it worse

Re: confused and annoyed
I had a small cyst and a small polyp this month and the dr didnt even mention it. I think it like the pp said depends on how big it is.

Re: confused and annoyed
I was told as long as its not producing estrogen, you would have been able to proceed. That has happened to me a few times before.
I dont blame you for being annoyed. You should mention it to the Dr. And if it happens again - def call before the office closes. Ive done that before too...i dont care if they think i'm being annoying because it's my health!

I would be annoyed too! I have cycled with cysts as long as they aren't producing too much estrogen.

Re: confused and annoyed
I've had tons of cysts, like a PP stated, it all depends on the size and e2 levels. Luckily only once I had a cycle delayed because of the size but most of the time they have shrunk with the help of birth control or having to wait for another period.

This is exactly what I have gone through.
