My father (who always says rude, inappropriate things): Do you have an exercise program? or What kind of exercise are you doing? answer: None.(I've only seen him twice during this pregnancy and he asked me this both times.)
I know that I should be exercising, but I don't need to hear it from him!

These are too funny. I have to admit that I thought this was the biggest compliment I could ever get, because kids are so brutally honest. I was at a picnic and a woman picked up her young son and said, "Look she's going to have a baby." The boy looked at me and said, "but she doesn't look that fat." His mom was horrified, but I just laughed and said, "Well if children are saying it you know it must be true. They don't lie!"

"Twins, Wow, you are in for it"
Gee thanks @$$hole
I counter by saying, "If you had to go through what I had to go through to even get here, not that you might even be able to handle it, you would know we are DOUBLY BLESSED!!!"
Then I leave them in stunned silence

Good for you!! I love your response! That would really annoy me to hear people say things like that all of the time. Personally I would always try to say something positive, like "wow - you are doubly blessed. How wonderful!" It amazes me how many people say rude, negative, inappropriate things.

Tell those people to bite you. My b-day is Jan. 4 and my sister's is Dec. 9 and my parents never let the holidays overshine our b-days. I will admit that I kind of get shafted by DH though.

Re: Compliment or no? Post your questionables here..
The best was my mother in law - who of course ALWAYS has the perfect thing to say.
When we told her that we were expecting her response was - Oh I already knew. Excuse me?? How could she know - we didn't even know until right before that - we told her at 7 weeks! She said - I already knew, I even said something to Grandma.
Later that day when we were at Grandma's telling her the good news we brought up the fact that MIL insisted that she already knew and that she had commented on it to her. Grandma says "Oh that's right, she said either she is getting fat, or I wouldn't be one bit surprised if she is pregnant"
Nice right?

I get that too! It doesn't help that I am born on Dec. 26 and know how yucky it is!
I told a few people, I am just grateful to have a child and that shut them up.
