Coming off Birth Control ???
DH and I would like to start trying for a little one in December - we have some things we'd like to finish up in our house and we think the next 6 months will give us enough time to finish getting settled. September will be 1 year in our house. December is our 2 year wedding anniversary.
Doctor told me to come off BCP 3 months prior to trying. That would be September (same time I will start pre-natals)...
I am probably the opposite of everyone here - but I have a huge fear of getting pregnant right away when I stop the pill (I have a fear of it happening before I am ready)...so would it be bad to just stop BCPs in November? and then start trying in December? The worst thing that would happen is I got pregnant right away...most likely it will take a few months anyway right?
I'm just nervous about coming off the pill - it's been my security blanket  and the thought of using condoms for 3 months makes me  since I get irritated from them and can only use certain kinds...I know it's lame and I should just suck it up and come off the pill in Sept and use protection until December :(
What did you all do if you were on the pill?

THIS IS MY FIRST MONTH OFF THE PILL AND I DONT WANT TO TRY TILL AUGUST/SEPTEMBER
WE JUST PULL AND PRAY LIKE WE DID BEFORE I EVER WENT ON THE PILL
DH REFUSES TO WEAR CONDOMS
I DONT THINK IT IS BAD IF YOU STOP IN NOVEMBER - IT JUST MIGHT TAKE A WHILE TO REGULATE AND GET PREGNANT

see i rather stop in November and it takes awhile for it to happen then stop in Sept and it happens in October or November before I am mentally prepared
I don't think I am EVER going to be prepared....part of me wants one now - and part of me is NEVER going to be ready...I'm weird, what can I say!

In all honesty, I wouldn't go off the pill until you are ready to start trying. if December is the month, then stop taking it that month. That way there is no chance of it happening before you are ready, and it usually won't happen the first month off BC (it could though, but its less likely) and it will give you time to adjust, with out having to use other methods.
If you decide to go off it earlier I would just pull and pray.

We went off last Nov and are not trying till august. Honestly DH has avoided me a bit more I regulated right away so he def. avoids me the whole week near O and every other time we pull and pray.

I don't really see a problem with staying on it a little longer if that's what you want and you're ok with it maybe taking a little longer for you to get PG once you're off. Especially if it's going to cause you anxiety otherwise.
Just because your doctor said to come off 3 months before you're ready to conceive doesn't mean that September has to be it... stop BC in November with the knowledge that it may be 3+ months until it happens -- or you may get PG right away. Never know!

OMG SO FUNNY BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE SINCE I GOT OFF THE PILL DH NEVER WANT TO 
HE IS NOT REALLY ON BOARD WITH TRYING IN aUGUST/SEPTEMBER SO HE DEFINATELY DOESNT WANT AN OOPS

I am totally in your shoes!!!!!! I feel the exact same way. my BC runs out next month, so i figured now is the best time to start trying. i am terrified do not get me wrong, and i keep on saying to myself i want to do x,y,z b/4 the baby comes, but then if i keep on thinking like that then i will just put it off more and more.
If you ever need someone to talk to i am here... it feels good to know there is someone out there that thinks like i do!

I had a really hard time coming off BC too. As in, I actually got another month and was taking it until DH caught me 
But, I came off when I was ready and we got pg the fourth cycle.
I say wait until you are ready, there really is no harm in getting pg that first cycle.

Wait untill you are ready to conceive, unless you plan on using protection. I got pregnant the very first time I ovulated off the pill. Huge surprise for us...granted we didn't use any protection...but we never ever thought that would happen. We are overjoyed of course...but be ready!

i think i will end with my October pack - i will see what happens in Nov and Dec as far as aunt flo goes - i may try to figure out when i ovulate...and we won't be careful  if it happens, it happens, if not i'll hopefully be able to figure out when in my cycle we should

We went off the pill Jan 1 and just used condoms. We started "trying" in late April-got PG early June!
Let me tell you-when you're using condoms and start to actually "try"....it's A LOT OF FUN!!
