cold medicine

is there anything we're not allowed to use?

i feel a cold brewing Chat Icon

just got off the phone with the docs office they said only Robitussan (not DM), no ZINC!!! which means no ZICAM!

We are only allowed to use regular Sudafed or Robitussin DM.

you should consult your dr bc u would be surprised what u can use. This week I had severe bronchitis and was put on an antibiotic, Robittusin, and tylenol cold. Check with your dr see what u can take.

usually after the first trimester, it's safer to use cold meds. ask your dr. my first cold with my daughter was at 4 months. i used sudafed.

the old horrible issue with cold meds was that they dried up mucus a little too well. my mom was born 3 months early b/c my grandmother took cold med. and they didn't know it was dangerous. basically, it would dry up ALL mucus membrames...guess what your baby is basicallly in? yup.

now days, the levels of drugs are lower and drs know which ones you CAN take and when.

I was told regular Robitussin. No DM- no Alcohol. IT just has 1 ingredient in it.
