Cold and Ear Infections

I feel like every time Mason gets a cold it eventually leads to an ear infection.

Ugh... and he seems to have a cold once or twice a month since the Fall Chat Icon

Yes, he's a daycare kid (for some reason my friends always give me that look like... ugh, those daycare kids and their colds)
He's been good for 2 weeks... Woohoo! Then the other morning he woke up with a runny nose.
Is it inevitable? Is this going to lead to an ear infection again. Chat Icon He never lets me help him clear him out and I think that's part of it too.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Owen almost always gets an ear infection if he has a cold.

Of course, Owen gets an ear infection every other Wednesday and twice on Sat.Chat Icon Chat Icon

He is in daycare, but so is DD and she never had this issue so I don't know what to make of it.

Yes for AJ it was always cold followed by ear infection. I must say that since her tubes have been put in, she's only had one last year! and only been sick ONCE all year long!

Yes, she's a daycare child. Since 4m old.

DS always has an ear infection following a cold. He's a daycare kid too. We are trying to get him in to see an ENT.

What do you mean by cleaning them out? Ears?

his nose and the boogies. I got by him with a wipe when I see a boogie slowly coming down and b4 I can get to him he sucks it back in or wipes it on his sleeve.

DS is the same way, and not a daycare kid.

I thought you meant his ears. I don't think you can really "clear them out" at this age. If he was able to blow his nose on his own that would probably help. What do I know though. I'm in the same boat. Chat Icon

We in the the same boat--this is our 3rd consecutive ear infection (out of the past 40 days he has been on antibiotics 30 of them!)
He is not a day care kid. It sucks Chat Icon

Re: Cold and Ear Infections

My DD was just like that until she got tubes last Feb. Since then, she hasn't had one and usually her colds are a lot faster to end!

Re: Cold and Ear Infections

This is JJ. Everytime he has a cold, he gets an ear infection. It only started to happen since he turned 1 though! When he was an infant, he was barely sick. He is not a Daycare kid, if that makes you feel better
