CM and OPK
The last two months I have had really heavy EWCM 2 days before my OPK surge. By the time I get a surge, I am very dry again.
I am worried if I wait for the surge I will not have enough CM. Should I not wait for the surge to BD? I am starting to hate the OPK's, so confusing
Does this happen to anyone else?

typically you ovulate 12 hours after you get your surge, or if you are keeping track of cm, the last day you have fertile CM. According to FF, you technically ovulate on the first less wet dat aftewr your most fertile fluid.
Once you get that surge, it means u will o, bd away that day the day after and the dayt after that to be sure. you should also bd in the fertile period leading up to o, sperm can survive longer than an egg can. An egg can only live for a max of 12-24 hours, sperm can last for days in the right environment.
ETa: if you see fertile fluid bd, no matter what!!!

whatever...i had no cm whatsoever and i got my bfp...i used opks and charted my temps

which isn't that artifical CM?

yes, i did. it can help when you are dry...i don't know what did the trick, but i'm just saying that i, personally, didn't have any cm and i was so freaked out b/c i was always under the impression that you needed cm to get pregnant...apparently not.

Always BD when you have EWCM. Also, try the Tussin (do a search on Robitussin) to "loosen you up". It may keep the EW around longer. Preseed is also an excellent alternative.
I also noticed I had lots of EW during my surge and less when I supposedly Oed- I still got pg.

Which is what CM is for..
SO the fact that you had NO CM BUT USED preseed....well the preseed probably allowed you to have the environment that would be optimal for conception...
So although you had NO cm....YOU DID USED preseed...which assisted you in this area

it's all speculation. i have no idea if it helped me, but it didn't hinder things either. it's hard to pinpoint what condition(s) led to the actual BFP..if it was that easy then everyone would get a BFP on the first try.
i know what you are saying...yes, i used preseed b/c i had no cm, but i don't know if that was the BFP catalyst. what i am trying to say is..with or without preseed...it is possible to get a BFP without identifying EWCM.

I too got a BFP with no CM... never had EWCM AT ALL... and didnt use the preseed... so I would not be overly concerned about the lack of CM....
