Classes- what age?

Just wondering when you started bringing your baby to mommy & me type classes? Gymboree and Kidville have classes for 0-6 months, but I feel like that's kind of a big range.

Thoughts/experiences?

Classes- what age?

Started my son at 4 months. My friend started the same time as me but her daughter was two months. Youngest I've seen in class is 10 weeks. Really it's a personal decision. Some of the moms in our group went to just get out of the house and get some adult interaction. Some just wanted their children to see/experience different things.

We started with library classes at 4 months. I don't think I'd pay for classes at that age though.

Re: Classes- what age?

I started new mommy classes at a few weeks old. Ds started music classes at about 5 months older and gymboree at about 8 months old. Dd began music together at 2 months because I was already taking Ds.

I started at 3 months. That quickly ended at 5 months when I moved OOS to a place where no one under the mental age of 55 exists. So that was awful!

I started Mommy and Me with my DD at 11 mos and will be doing the same with my DS. We could have started at 6 mos but they're still so little and I can't imagine paying a lot of $$ for a class at that age.

We started at 8 months, which for us was the month of April. He was at the stage where he put EVERYTHING in his mouth and I wanted to wait for after flu season! Chat Icon

We started with music and then added swimming at 9 months.

We started gymboree at 6 weeks with dd. I was bored and needed to get out of the house. Plus I was going back to work at 3 months and wanted the experience of doing it with her.
