Re: Christmas Bills
Nope and I love it. Just paid off my Kohls bill which was the only outstanding bill I had, the rest was paid out of our checking account all season. On top of my holiday bonus, dh just got his bonus (a lot more than last year so with it we are able to pay bills and have a little extra cash which I actually like better than buying more gifts just to have more).

Re: Christmas Bills
I did the 52 week money challenge all year and did the average so every week I deposited $26.50 into an extra checking account. Byt the time OCT came I had money stashed for DS' birthday party and xmas. and I have money left too.
Usually christmas bites me in the ass every year.

That's awesome. I wish I could do that but don't have that extra money in the beginning so definately know I wouldn't be able to keep adding to it every week. Maybe some day

Christmas Bills
I think many people do but not quick to share publicly.
But yeah, I will. A little bit. Nothing too nuts. It is what it's and life goes on.

Christmas Bills
I assumed we would as DH is unemployed, but thankfully he did some freelance work and that check came. So we used most of it toward Christmas.

Re: Christmas Bills
Nope. For the first time EVER.
I religiously followed the 52 wk Xmas savings plan this year and paid cash for every single thing I bought. Any additional gifts above and beyond what I saved for I also paid cash. I spent probably $1800'ish this Xmas and I don't have one bill to worry about now that it's all said and done. I am so excited about that.........feels really good!!

Me too!!!! I put in extra whenever I could as well. This year I'm depositing my $100+ Ebates check right into it for next year as well as another $50 rebate check I got but I will continue to deposit the rest as outlined in the plan. I like the idea of averaging it out, good idea!

Christmas Bills
None. I bought most of my stuff from Amazon. So, I used my card to get the points, and paid it all off.

Re: Christmas Bills
Normally, yes we do have bills and I always feel like we spent way too much after the fact. This year we cut all gift giving to kids in the family only. We put away 100 a week for a few months for the gifts (plus hosting gets very expensive). We had a limit on each child and cut down even for our own children. It worked out really well this year.

Re: Christmas Bills
It is the opposite for me. This is the first year ever that we will have bills that will take a few months to pay off. It was inevitable - had an expense filled year and while I would have liked to have cut down on holiday gifts, its very hard to do so with a large family that gives you gifts and expects gifts in return and would not agree to a no gift policy. It is what it is.

Everything is on the Amex bill is due the 18th. Amex you have to pay off every month so I don't spend more than I can afford. I also start picking things up for Christmas in September so it's not all at once

Re: Christmas Bills
I dont buy anything I can't pay off when the bill comes. Yes there will be credit card bills as they close and come in,.but I will just be paying them in full like I do every month.

Christmas Bills
This year we will have a balance from Christmas on our cc. It should be paid shortly though. We usually do all our Christmas gifts cash or debit but this is the first year in our home and we had to do and purchase a lot of things so...there went that

Re: Christmas Bills
Yup, we'll have a ton, we charge everything on our cash back and rewards credit cards and then pay it all off when it's due. Might as well make SOMETHING off all of that shopping

A huge bill this year... But its really like that every year and gets paid off with our tax return. I'm one of the few people that actually look forward to tax season and file ASAP lol
