Choosing between Nanny and Daycare...
Nanny because I liked that I didn't have to wake my kids up to bring them anywhere and I also liked that they ate and slept at home according to our routine

Choosing between Nanny and Daycare...
We chose a nanny (who has been with us now for 8+ years!).
1. I wanted one-on-one attention for my then-infant. 2. No disruption to baby's schedule. 3. No germ concerns. 4. Baby stays in comfort of her own home with all her own stuff - crib, clothes, toys, etc. 5. Makes my life easier in terms of leaving the house in the morning.

Re: Choosing between Nanny and Daycare...
I chose nanny
1 - I wanted my babies to be in the comfort of their own home with their own things
2 - I didn't want to have to bring them out in the cold, rain, snow, etc
3 - Didn't want to have to get them up really early
4 - I find daycares to much of a structured environment for the little ones and they have to deal with that enough why rush it.
5- I like to really know who is taking care of my child.
We have had the same nanny for 7 years

Choosing between Nanny and Daycare...
We chose a nanny and have had her since my son was about 3 months old. We trust her wholeheartedly but then again, i check my cameras all the time to see what they are up to when im in the office (i work part-time). Prior to hiring a nanny, i visited many daycares and just couldnt get myself to feel 100% comfortable with having my son split his time with other kids. I just felt that he needed one-on-one time at an early age. Now being that he is two and a half, he goes to school three hours a day. He is up to speed like the other kids. Regardless of where a child goes to daycare/home care, he/she will learn his abc's, 123s, learn to use the potty etc. Who really cares if it happens earlier for some and later for others? As long as a child reaches his milestones at the appropriate time, then its all good. My one gripe about having a nanny is the cost. Its pricey and paying for additionals like part-time school, swim lessons, music etc., it can all add up.

Re: Choosing between Nanny and Daycare...
I was home with both my children for the first year I chose daycare bc at 1 I liked the idea of them having social interaction with other children, I only need 3 days a week, it was more cost effective. If I had two kids home then I would have considered a nanny but my son was already in prek full day.
