i need my hair done so badly but highlights are so expensive.. i have been holding out but now it is at the point, i either need to go dark or get highlights done.. i go to studio z on bell blvd in queens but it is $$...can any1 recommend someone who does a great job for cheap--like under 100$..
any1 do them on the side for money or know someone who does it from home cheap?
I AM DESPERATE...even considering doing them from the box u buy in cvs.

Re: cheaper highlights..
Honestly, highlights are something I wouldn't mess with. Do you know anyone who works out of their home? They often charge way less because the salons mark up the prices.

Re: cheaper highlights..
Hey that is where I go (went). Who does your color? C.C. did mine. I stopped going when she was gone...anyway, I am in the same predicament as you. I want to go back...not even sure if C.C. is back. They are expensive too, what about getting half a head?
Also, when C.C. was out, I had to find a place, I went to Dirosa in Franklin Square on Hempstead Turnpike...my SIL recommended it (it's much less expensive)...the girl's name is Karen. I think she is good also.

Re: cheaper highlights..
I get my hair cut at studio Z, and asked about the highlights, they are so expensive and my hair grows fast, so I decided not to do it. I haven't been able to find anything for a decent price

Suzanne does my color, shes fanatastic..literally saved my hair back in the day when another salon destroyed it...but studio z is just soo pricey it seems insane PLUS i have short hair and it still costs $$$. I am scared to try someplace new, so for now I am walking around with horriblr black roots, in turmoil on what to do :)
