chain linked fence?

We are a corner house, so we can't put a decent sized fence up without permits & if we did it would have to be like 6 feet in which is a hill on our property. . (it's just overall a pain in the a**, I hate our property!!) so we are looking to do a chain linked fence for one part of the house and then planting arborvitaes to make more privacy. Anyone have pictures of their black chain linked fence?

ETA- we were thinking the black chain linked

Re: chain linked fence?

I don't.... my mom has silver chain link fence with white slats... it's nice looking with the slats plus they are easier to repair and hold up better (IMO) than PVC.

However - just the plain chain link fence doesn't look too hot... (again - my opinion).

What about doing a white picket fence with arborvitaes - or do you want it to be 6ft high?

Also - b/c apparently it's long-winded day - the arborvitaes are prone to disease - think about Leland cypresses.

Re: chain linked fence?

I would not do chain link anywhere visible. It just doesn't really look that great. It's great on the back end of a lot, with hedges or shrubs around it. But if it's on a street side or front of the home it isn't so hot IMO.

I would price out white pvc, 4 feet and see if you can swing it. Then do chain link on the back end of the lot.

Re: chain linked fence?

We rent... we had a chain link in front of our house...we hated it. Finally took it down and it looks sooo much better! Def look into a picket fence... PVC or wood. Would loook sooo much nicer then chain link

Re: chain linked fence?

We have an acre with a lot of it being woods, with more woods behind us. We were considering a black chain link fence as well since we are not concerned about privacy (bc of the woods) and something like this for the front yard.
