There's a moment where she realizes what's happening, and she looks absolutely terrified...so very sad. Happy to hear she's fine, but this is something they should seriously look into.

That was not nerves. Not that I'm an expert, but looked like something neurological. It might not have been a full-blown stroke, but it was likely a warning stroke, or some other neurological event.

I'm a speech lang. pathologist and her speech was totally characteristic of Wernicke's Aphasia, which results from a stroke. maybe it wasn't a full blown stroke, but a TIA or something. very scary!

Re: CBS reporter Serene Branson---had a stroke on air?

I saw this am, on TODAY and def neurological.

A doc was there and she was stating how she shouldnt of been sent home but to the ER so even if she was fine, they could of done extensive testing to see what it was a mini stroke or not and to know what the future might hold for her.

the fact that this could happen again and be worse.

On GMA this morning they were saying perhaps it was an epileptic seizure.

That is sooo scary....I hope she is ok. I am surprised they let her go home and didn't take her to the hospital for a full examination.

I completely agree.

that def wasn't nerves. I've never seem someone's nerves make their words sound like that. She didn't even seem nervous with the first few normal words. And you can see the fear wash over her once she realized her words weren't coming out right at all.

it definitely looked nuerological. I certainly hope she was tested further than just having medics look at her on the scene.

Re: CBS reporter Serene Branson---had a stroke on air?

I watched a professor have a stroke in one of my college classes. He was talking but his eyes rolled back. He kept saying he couldn't see.
He died later that night.

It was very scary. And it was the first day of class.

Re: CBS reporter Serene Branson---had a stroke on air?

Definitely looked like a TIA or a stroke! I can't believe that they just took her home after that! She should have been in the ER and on a CT table.

I don't know if most people realize there is a very short window of time that a stroke must be treated. If someone does have a stroke and its witnessed like hers was, then you have a definite time of onset, which could save thier life.

There are many things that mimic a stroke, like low blood sugar, seizure (there are many different types of seizures), bell's palsy, etc. I hope that they get to the bottom of this and this poor woman doesn't suffer from any of this ever again.

I know this sounds weird, but sometimes when I used to get a very bad migraine I used to feel like I couldn't speak properly or form words correctly
It's very very scary but the MD told me it can occur sometimes during a migraine attack
I hope that is all it was for her!

The same things happen to me occasionally. VERY scary.

I have had migraines like this... they are the scariest things I have ever experienced!

I just saw this on the news and they were saying that it was not a stroke but she was suffering a severe migraine and the symptoms mimicked stroke symptom. IDK if I buy that but I hope she is alright and gets this checked out

I actually have migraines like that, so I buy it.
At the time it is occurring the symptoms are very stroke-like.
Most people think a migraine is just a bad headache- but it's actually a neurological event in your brain that can cause stroke like symptoms.
I lose partial vision, get numbness in my face and hands and I have also had trouble speaking and making sense when I am about to get a migraine.

It's very very scary!
