Catty girls.......
I posted this on Relationships but realized it might not belong there....
I personally find myself to be a nice person, especially when I first meet you. So today at work, 2 females walk into my office and I say hello with a smile. One girl with gigantic sunglasses just glares at me and doesn't say anything, while I speak with the other....the other girl just looked at me like I killed her cat.
Come to find out they're from SI, which explains a lot, sorry to say, but this is my experience.
Now, can someone explain to me WHY we as adult women, still heva to act like we are in high school?
And how do these girls get along in everyday life? I just don't get it.
Oh, trust me, if you're nasty to me my claws come out, but Iw as nice to you, no need to be a b!tch.....
And from my own personal experience....you should ALWAYS be nice to people, you never know where you may come across them again.

Re: Catty girls.......
I honestly believe it stems from insecurity. Secure, healthy people do not feel the need to cut others down, be rude to people they don't even know or make catty comments behind other people's back on a regular basis.
I would say both of those women feel that they have to act better than you in order for you to think they are someone.
Just my two cents.

me too. can you imagine how miserable their lives must be. You can't have a healthy relationship like that. Be glad you aren't like them.

Re: Catty girls.......
My take on this is; if she were there ALONE, would she have felt more uncomfortable and tried to be nice to you to level her insecurity?
Hmm, just a thought KWIM?

yeppers! hit it on the head!
it happens all the time - and i feel it happens more often if you are attractive, outgoing, have a nice/funny personality, have things going for you, etc. it is like the more they think you have going on (or more than them) the more they are nasty.
it sux - i'm sorry
i see it a lot - never experienced anything with people from staten island though, lol, DH has a cousin from there and she's nice. i think it is all over.

As a Staten Island girl I deal with this ALL the time. I can honestly say I am NOT like this. It really drives me crazy.
However, as I have gotten older I'm finding out that people, no matter where they are from, act like this. I like to call it the "Entitled, better than everyone syndrome"

Re: Catty girls.......
B/c girls can be very shallow. And this chick is obviously insecure and looks at every girl to see if she is better then them. it's sad really.
