Carseat Installation questions...Britax Marathon users please come in
Dh installed dd's Britax Marathon today and will have it inspected this week. Question 1: are the straps supposed to be set as low as possible when rearward facing or if there are two levels that are lower, which should it be on...the lowest or higher one? Is it supposed to be nearly impossible to.get to the release that you press to loosen the straps? I can barely access it with a finger tip.

I JUST adjusted the straps on our marathon yesterday. Yes it's difficult to access the lever to loosen the straps. I thought the same thing. If you are rear facing, the straps should be AT or BELOW shoulder level. If front facing, AT or ABOVE shoulder level. I have her rear facing (she's only 10.5 mos) and they are definitely not at the lowest setting - she is almost 30in tall - and the seat can be used for newborns, so logically speaking I don't think they should be at the lowest setting at this point (I know your DC is older than mine).
I read the manual yesterday can you tell? lol HTH!

Thanks so much! I have my nose in it now. I can't get over how difficult it is to acecess the release. I guess it's so dd can't release the straps.

Thanks for posting this! I was just trying to loosen the straps yesterday, I'm glad it isn't just me who had difficulty. I am happy my dd won't be able to play with it but wish it was a lil more user friendly!
