So today I went for my 2nd Sono and Bloodwork, I am CD15 they said something like it measured 13, but it needs to be around 18... So I am thinking like 5-6 more day's until our first IUI... I usually O on CD 20.

Now, my question is... After your girls IUI's, what did you do?

Did you just go to work like a normal day?
Did you take off from work?
Go to work late?

I plan on just hopping on the next train to the city but I want to make sure I am not in denial that I should be staying home or something...

Nope, lay there for a few minutes and then got up and went to the train station.

I went right to work, I was a little late since my RE only does IUI's between 9:00am-11:00am. I'm lucky though that my office is less than 2 miles from the RE.

They just have you lie still for a bit and then your free to do what you need to (I was always a little extra cautious, no excersizing or anything but thats just me )...Your follies grow generally about 2mm per day so that may help you to gauge when your IUI might be...Did they mention a trigger shot (a shot they give when your follie is mature- usually IUI is the following morning) ...Good Luck !

A few times, I didn't have work after the IUI so I just went home.

One time, I actually went to work, went and had the IUI, and then went back to work.

They will make you lay there for a few minutes, but that's about it.

Considering I don't know what a Trigger Shot is, I don't think I got one, and I don't think I will be getting one, b/c they just said to call when I see the smiley face and then they will make the appt for the next morning.

So I guess we will see...

well my last successful cycle, i had back to back.
1st one, went to work after (took a long lunch)
2nd one- called in sick and rested whole day b4 and after iui.

so i am not sure which iui day got me my bfp.

definately lay there w/ feet elevated for 15 minutes

usually they make u come back the next day if after they do the IUI they see that the u havent ovulated.
the most sensitive OPK i found are the clearblue w/ the happy face. they gave me a pos surge a day earlier then all the rest. they did the trick for me.

I usually either had to take a day off or go after work. I did the "drop-off" in the am. On the weekends, it wasn't a problem. I have gone to the gym on IUI days and the RE who did my last IUI was on the elliptical machine right behind me that same week. I actually went to a Bat Mitzvah right from NSUH the last time as well.

All of the IUI cycles in which I got PG (there were 3) I had back to back IUIs ranging from 2-4 IUIs in each cycle. Some may think that is excessive. For me it worked so I dont I don't argue with what works.

i did 3 cycles of iui, the 1st 2 were done the day after i surged.
the 3rd was done on the day i surged and the day after. It worked. i am a big believer of back to back iui's the day u surge and the day after. My dr doesnt do iui's on the day u surge but i did it anyway and said i surged the day before. LOL... honestly, u have to go w/ what feels right in your heart.
all drs do things differently.
girls on this board are great b/c u cna compare how their drs handle things.

most times I went to work, albeit a bit crampy. Stayed home maybe once or twice when cramps were a bit more.

I did 2 cycles of IUIs. The first I surged naturally and went out to lunch and shopping with a friend after the IUI. The second time I did the trigger shot, had b2b IUIs and rested for half the day after each (went to work in the afternoon). That worked for us (unexplained IF). I think the b2b made a difference for us, as well as the trigger to time things.

Update 5/15:
Well... We finally received our bloodwork results from the 1st day at the RE... ya know the big blood work...

They said everything looks normal for me... which is good!

I haven't received my DH bloodwork back yet... which is making me a little nervous...

But I am pretty excited....

Hopefully our 1st IUI will be next week.

Update 5/18:

So... update... I went back to the Dr. this morning and it seems I am not as in the clear as I thought I was, I specifically asked the Nurse when they called me with my blood work up results about that PCOS thing that they tested for and she specifically told me that the results showed I didn't have it.

But when I went for my sono and blood work today... the Dr. Said I DO have it... Chat Icon

I guess this isn't going to be as good as I thought. She is prescribing me on some medication that I am going to do some research on in a little bit...

Also... my follie only grew from last wed... at 13mm, to being 14 mm today... thats still really small and I am already CD20, so we will see if I am even ovulating... I usually ovulate around CD20-CD22 but still isn't that kinda small...

Well... I was in such a good mood this morning, with my birthday being this week, and it was such a beautiful morning, to being so upset about this stupid crap...

Update 5/19:

Well... I went back again today for bloodwork and Sono, and they advised that I am ovulating and I now have 4 follies, 1 at 15mm and 3 at 12mm!!!

So hopefully our IUI will be later this week!!!

I will be back tomorrow for more bloodwork and sono!

Update 5/20-

I went back for Sono and bloodwork and my follies were at 16mm! and then the smaller ones grew too!

Update 5/21-

Went back again... my arm looks like I am a crack addict with all of puncture hole marks from the bloodwork... lol...

Good news though!!! the large follie is now 17.5mm!!! then there is another at 15mm, and others are like 13mm

They are thinking IUI either on Fri or Sat...

I will be back again tomorrow!
