Can you register and insure a car, if the loan is in someone else's name?
Currently, the car is in my name (loan, registration, insurance). As part of our agreement, STBX is taking the car, but I have to continue to make the payments. I want him t register and insure the car in his name, but the loan is currently in my name. Can he do this? I would think I have to sign over the title to make this happen...but can I sign it over if there is still a lien on it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Car needs to be insured under the name of the owner of car, If he/she is on both the title and loan..they are an interest and must be listed.
HTH
ETA: You may not be able to sign it over. unfortunately its not that easy.
