Can We?
Can we have an official "reading into symptoms post"? That way girls coming and going can read it and see what other girls went through at different dpo and do the stats? IDK if that makes sense

Re: Can We?
I think if anyone wants to read up on reading into symptoms they can just look up every single one of my posts from the past 2 weeks!!
OR, if you go to twoweekwait.com they have a list of all symptoms, although that might not be a good idea since it's a list for their recent BFP's, could lead to false hope!
so maybe you're thinking of a list that we just update our symptoms throughout our 2ww and then if we got a BFP/BFN/and when/if AF showed up? I like this idea if we post once and just keep going back to our initial reply to update for that month's 2ww (makes it easier to follow!)...is that what you were thinking of? I hope I'm making sense, feeling very foggy! (doh!! there I go reading into symptoms again!!!

yes yes!! me likey!! so maybe if you have it as an ongoing 2ww thread, we can just keep adding to it for each 2ww like you wrote but adding dates and editing as you go along so you can follow that person's 2ww.....I love this idea!
like for me I'd have:
12/18 on OPK 1 dpo: nothing 2dpo: nothing 3dpo: crampy and gassy 4dpo: bloated feeling
etc. etc.

If you had started this yesterday, I would have read this and thought, "Gassy?! I'm totally pregnant!"
This is mine, but I'm sort of guessing on the DPO:
1-5 DPO : nothing to report 6 DPO: had oral surgery, but did not use pain killers (just in case). Was paying more attention to my mouth than anything else! 7-9 DPO: recovering from surgery, but felt occasional bouts of dizziness. No appetite and 2 nights of insomnia from 3am - 5am. 10 DPO : sharp pain in my abdomen that went away quickly. 11 DPO: started feeling crampy, some gassy-ness. 12 DPO: BFN 12 DPO - 15 DPO: continuous cramps, but felt no different than AF cramps. On 14 DPO, major gas pains. 16 DPO: AF came

well do you think it's better that girls in the 2ww only have 2ww threads to read from girls who actually GOT a bfp? I think it might actually serve as a reality check for those comparing symptoms to women who were in fact pregnant to compare symptoms to those that ended up w/ AF instead of a BFP (myself included).

Not even that, it might help maintain the board with ONE place for people to post instead of a new post every symptom (yes I'm OCD)

right? i think that this might make everyone read into symptoms even more and drive people nutty... buuut at the same time, i guess everyone does it anyway and i see your point about condensing it to one thread.

I am totally on board. Lets do it!!
We should clearly name the thread for the girls who don't like to look into symptoms, so they could just by pass it and for the rest of us it could be a thread to compare and vent.
I've been to twoweekwait and I don't care for the thread. From what I've seen you don't know if they ever got a BFP and the post aren't dated.

my thoughts exactly, if you don't want to read up on 2ww symptoms than skip the post...at least it's clearly labeled for everyone who wants to read and/or add to it. I don’t understand why it’s a big deal to have a post about it, isn’t this the TTC board? What else should we write about on here? it’s not all BFP’s and rainbows people….before a BFP there is naturally anxiety about what’s going on w/ your body and you’d be lying if you said you never experienced that feeling yourself during the 2ww. I can understand why there are so many lurkers on this board, no one wants to feel silly for asking a question or bringing up symptoms. Maybe I’ll start the thread since it seems some are interested

Hey if you girls want to do it, more power to you. Maybe you'll all learn something. Maybe you'll learn what me and a ton of other girls have tried to convey on this board all along, that symptoms mean absolutely nothing when TTC. I've had months where I was pregnant, and months where I was not and there is no way I could tell you that the symptoms were different.
The hormones that come into play during your 2WW, specifically progesterone and estrogen (i think it's estrogen?) are the culprits for your symptoms- swelling boobs, fatigue, nausea, etc. HCG doesnt even come into play until around 8 DPO and still, those symptoms wont manifest until later and can easily be confused with the other hormones.
So, I just want to put it out there. Analyzing symptoms is fun and we all do it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with creating a thread like that, but you girls need to understand how your bodies work realistically! The 2ww is no fun at all!! And, yes to echo Gina, what happend to the pact to not analyze symptoms?
OK, go ahead, crucify me, call me a party pooper, I just wanted to convey that message!

I wouldn't call you a party pooper! lol I know you are just trying to be realistic...but for me I would actually like to see people updating their cycles as they go along, having one place for it makes it easier to keep up with people and like Retrochick said easier than having a bunch of individual posts. I have been out of the TTC loop since miscarrying in 2009 so for me I need a place to come and be inspired and right now, this board is it..since I refuse to talk to anyone IRL about the TTC journey until we know we're "out of the woods" so to speak (since we told EVERYONE when we were pregnant last time). I realize my outlook seems rather naive.... I know how frantic I can get when I want something so badly....I just hope that a 2ww thread does end up being more helpful than hurtful to everyone who decides to participate. sending you lots of luck on your TTC journey!

I completely agree with this. Not to get up on my high infertile horse here or anything... but I've been pregnant quite a few times AND been through mannnnny cycles.. and trust me. No 'sign' is reliable!! There were time I said I was definitely going to be pregnant because I felt everything I read about on boards just like this one... and then I wasn't. Then there were times I said I definitely wasn't and I was.. You just NEVER know.. Anything that becomes a sign is pure coincidence.
Having said that.. if you think it will help entertain you during the 2ww to read into things and give you hope, then go ahead.. but seriously.. it should be purely for entertainment purposes because I'd feel bad if anyone actually read into these signs and got overly emotional to find out they are in fact not pregnant, after really being sure they were going to be.
For what it's worth, for my last pregnancy, I was pretty sure I was getting AF up until the moment I tested. I had everything down to horrible cramps at 12dpo (yea, go get that one to your list ) and my boobs weren't at all sore. What it comes down to is, you just NEVER know and my signs before all of my pregnancies AND failed cycles were all different.
ETA: Lastly... I just want to add, if you started a thread and called it "2ww AF symptoms" it would have the EXACT same signs...........

my point in saying that was b/c it seemed like it was insinuated that some people are annoyed with those who post about symptoms and such.....and if 90% of the posts on TTC are about symptoms than what's the other 10%? that's what I was getting at with my comment about BFP's/rainbows....if we took away the inquisitive posts people put up on TTC what would we be left with? It just sounded like some people feel there are only certain things acceptable to post on TTC (or acceptable for them to read, but hey that's why we have freedom of choice to decide what we want to read). Sorry I know I'm going off on tangents here, the last thing I want to see is frustration on this board since this is a place where people come for support. But I just felt like no one should judge what people post on these boards (and no I'm not referring to anyone in particular) since a lot of people feel lost in this process, myself included ....sorry if I came across as the defender of all newbie TTCer's!

Re: Can We?
i am serious when i say i am confused as all hell
people think only certain things r acceptable to post?
i always felt this board was great bc people could post everything and anything including tmi topics etc and not feel funny
i think the point some of us was trying to get across is it would be terrible for someone to be like i have every symptom so and so has and that girl too and then not get a bfp, kwim?
but i think it is a great idea for those who want to compare and post symptoms from 1dpo and so on
i just do not think anyone was annoyed...it is just like if u say is cm a sign of pregnacy..yes it is..for jane it was..but for mary it was not..kwim?
idk..what do i know..this is a free country and a free board..i think u girls will have fun with it
