can I share a touching moment?
So my DH came home from Afghanistan and everyone kept telling me that DS wouldn't know him and to give it time. Well that never happened. He has clung to DH and never let him go since he came back. Well last night we were tucking DS in bed and DH kissed him on the forehead looked him in the eyes and said "love you little man" well he dropped his lovie and hugged DH really tight and said "Uv u daddy" and kissed him. I am saw the look on DH's face and broke down in tears. This kid is too much

  I would have been in tears too. I'm so happy he's home and they can spend every moment together.

Awww - that is so sweet.
I know what you're going through and give you so much credit for doing it alone for so long! My DH is in the reserves and missed the birth of our little boy. He's back now, but it's nice to know that if he is deployed that DS won't forget him.
