Can I please have a regular coke?
I am 10.5 weeks, haven't had a cup of coffee at all, a few cups of tea, but nothing in over a week...can I please have one of those mini-cokes? You know the little 100 calorie cans?

dont do it.. you can't drink just one.. it's like a cigarette smoker who thinks they can have just ONE cigarette.. it pulls you back in.. you'll think okay.. that was just a small can and it was soooo good and sooo refreshing.. i can take another sip.. it won't hurt. then another one.. and another one.. and another one.. and before you know it you will have finished off a half of 2 liter bottle of coca cola all by yourself while your husband sits there and looks at you like your insane.. and then you'll feel so bad about it you'll start crying and wonder if you've done some serious damage to your baby's growth...and your husband will continue to look at you like your insane as you sit there crying while holding a half empty bottle of coke and a small coke can that set you on the road to dispair..

With my DS I had 2 cups of coffee a day. My OB said there was nothing wrong with coke or coffee in moderation. So yes you can have some

I have been drinking coke all along. I cut back in the first trimester in comparison to how much I used to drink but I still drink it. Moderation is key.

That list just goes to show you that one serving of most of the stuff we drink with caffeine is not nearly as harmful as one might think. I think the studies regarding caffeine in pregnancy are more likely to address those people with true addictions to caffeine - those who go through a 2 liter of soda or more a day or multiple cups of coffee. I know people like this who literally get the shakes when they dont have it.

YES!!! You can have up to 2 caffeinated drinks per day. At least thats what my dr told me. A coke won't do any harm. And, FYI- tea has more caffeine than a cup of coffee so if you prefer coffee go ahead and have it! (sorry for poor spelling)

ITA My OB said the same thing. She also said it helps if you have bad headaches, I have a glass or two of iced tea a week. I never drink soda and for some reason with my DS I craved coke for a couple of weeks and I drank it a little.

I never felt any caf-buzz from cola... I think the gallons of corn syrup in there ( ) counteract any caf-uplift.....
so, you're missing the caffeine specifically (you're not content with caf-free coke?) personally, I don't miss caffeine at all....
