It took a while, but it seems I'm back, at least for now

I got my BFP yesterday, at 11dpo, after going through IVF.

I have a couple of questions...

First, it's been a while so I don't remember this stuff, but today I started cramping. It doesn't hurt hurt, but it's uncomfortable and every now then there's a sharp pain - any need to be worried, or is this typical stretching pains?

Second, I'm on progesterone vaginal suppositories. My RE had me double my dosage this past weekend and warned me it might cause spotting. Well, lo and behold, I have the tiniest bit of brown spotting, only noticeable when I wipe, and a tiny bit on the pantyliner. Should I be concerned?

yes - the cramps are normal...however if you are having particularly bad cramps and have the spotting at the same time - a call to your doctor can't hurt...

if the spotting increases or changes color - maybe call the doc too. you won't be the first person to call i'm sure!

First off congrats and sticky dust to you!!!

Second- i had cramping for the first 10 weeks, i hear it is totally normal. they feel a little worse than af cramps!

I did not have spotting but a lot of ladies on this board did, so I would say that is normal too!

When is your next dr appointment?

Congrats, Cramps without any real blood is normal. I had them for the better part of the first tri.

I also believe the spotting with the PS are also very normal.

I had cramping the entire first trimester.
I was also on the progesterone, and had spotting once around 8 weeks. However, it is perfectly normal to spot on them because when you push them up in there they could touch and irritate your cervix.

Well I just called my doc and she said the cramps are normal and she's happy to hear I'm spotting lightly because it's a good sign She did say it's probably because of the suppositories. It's just so faint you can barely even see it... but I am paranoid because I have miscarried before, though that started with red spotting.

I go in on Thursday for my first blood test - she said I'm still very early (12dpo) so they want to wait until I'm at least 14dpo for the bloodtest.

Welcome Aboard I nearly freaked this past Sunday - i had a tiny bit of spotting in my underwear but since then nothing. I have had some stretching feelings also but hope its just by uterus getting ready!

Mild cramping is normal in the beginning.

I would call your Dr. just to make sure, it wouldn't hurt.

Congrats!!!!! I also had cramping, worse than AF, during the first few weeks after my BFP. At one point I called the doctor, but she said it's fine unless you are doubled over in pain or it is accompanied by blood, in which case go to the ER.

I don't blame you. We told our DD - 2 years 9mths that I was pregnant and she keeps telling me she has a baby in her tummy and walks around with her doll up her top!

Welcome!!! So happy for you.

Cramping, very normal esp if on suppositories. Same for spotting, expect all possible colors too as P4 supps can irritate the cervix.

OMG Beth...I haven't checked IF in a couple of days and I'm SOOOOO HAPPY to see you here!!!! CONGRATS!!!

Don't be concerned about the spotting...it's v. normal w/ the progesterone. I had lots of random pains...I think it's the uterus stretching.
