daycare center. I like that they have a routine and do lots of learning (in addition to the playing)
ETA: personally I'd only have a sitter if I knew the person (family or friend, etc.) I just like the checks and balances of a center, although I will say a center has its share of cons as well.
Depends what YOU are comfortable with for your child.

Sitter (my in-laws) 2x a week
Daycare Center 2x a week
I am off 1 day a week
Starting in May DS will be at Daycare 3x a week

Daycare.....I don't have anyone to stay home with her now. Well...actually my mom can....but she takes her 1 day a week. I like the structure of the daycare center. And the fact that they teach and do stimulating activities with her.

ETA: When we needed daycare, I much preferred a center v. a in home provider. I agree with Jodi that the checks and balances are a good thing!!

When I go back to work in 2 weeks, he will stay with my mom until he is 1yr. then he will go to daycare.
