Can Clomid...update

Lengthen you lutal phase? Right now I'm 18 dpo (piui) and have not tested yet. The reason I'm holding out is because for the past couple of days I feel like I'm going to get af any minute. I have my ususal af cramps and have had them for at least 5 days strong. The other reason why I don't think I'm preg. is because my breasts that were very tender stopped hurting I few days ago. I know I ovulated for a fact 18 days ago. My normal lp is 15-16 days.

Any input would be greatly appreciatedChat Icon

Well, I caved and took the test and I got a bfp. I'm shaking up so excited!!!I promise I will write a detailed description of everything from symptoms to bding/ iui schedule when I can compose myself. Thanks for your input ladies. I also just wanted to thank GOD for this blessing. Sticky vibes please!!!!

I would, but I'm so scared of that BFN:( I just researched A little and read that it could lengthen your lpChat Icon

Re: Can Clomid...

I've never heard of it lenghtening your LP to 18 days...15 days max. If I were you I would test at this point.
What did your RE say? Usually they have you come in for blood if you haven't gotten AF by 14dpo.
The only thing that would prevent you from getting AF is progesterone supplementation.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Can Clomid...

i took clomid 5 days this cycle, days 4-8..i was told its supposed to give me a 28 day cycle..basically...forcing ovulation around day 14.

Im going for an iUI tuesday which is day 13. I've read so many different things on what clomid does that im not even sure, but the dr insists this is what it does..LOL. I dont think it lengthens your LP though. I would test if you're 18days past IUI.

sore boobs dont mean anything. it can mean AF is coming or pregnancy symptoms. I would read too much into that.

good luck!!

The RE told me to come in at 14 dpo, but I never did. I figured I'd wait it out and I have an appt with them on tues. regardless. I'm not on progesterone on anything else. I'm prob just going to wait it out a little longer. I would totally think something was up, if my breast tenderness did not suddenly dissapear. I've also been so crampy (af typle) for the past 5 days.

Just so you know, the cramps can also be your uterus starting to stretch. It basically feels the same. I would go in for blood on Monday and then keep your appointment on Tuesday.

Well, I could only hope this is the case for me. If not, I really don't like how the clomid effected my cycle. Either way, thanks for the responses. I will keep you posted;)

That's not true... I never had a 28 day cycle on Clomid, or ovulated at CD14.

To the OP... I would definately test at this point, and DEFINATELY go back the RE for bloodwork! Best of luck!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I've asked 2 GYN's about this already (the current one Im seeing and my former one who is actually a nurse-midwife) and they both insist this is usually what it does. So i have no idea..they're not RE's by any means...nor am in being checked right now while im on it. But I did have 2 high days already on the CBEFM and im on day 11..so i should be peaking somewhere around day 13-14.

i swear..this stuff is like rocket science to me..LOL

I that is the case, maybe that is what's happening to me! Did it lengthen your luteal phase or did you just o later so your cycle was longer?

Re: Can Clomid...

You should really test. That's a very long LP. It does correct a cycle usually for those who have a short LP, but I don't think it would lengthen it that much. Please test! Chat Icon
