Calgon?--anyone
So I went to Jersey this weekend for the wedding...it took us almost 3 HOURS from my Dad's in CT because of traffic on the Tappan Zee (I officially hate that bridge)--it was supposed to be an hour ride...
We barely made the rehearsal and only did because the caravan of cars from the hotel got lost for 30 minutes on the 5 minutes ride from the hotel...I got REALLY drunk on Friday night(that was fun) and spent Saturday in bed paying for it--my poor belly...Isabella was doing awesome at my Dad's
Was all fine for the 7 pm ceremony OUTSIDE in the heat (on a slant were the chairs so my buttcheeks for QUITE the workout) Basically the wedding wasn't that great. --DH was in the wedding party but we were seated at Table 20 out of 20 tables (ALL the way in the back) --the food was bad --the music was bad (it was an older style band) **we did have an awesome time back in the hotel afterwards, I had to drag DH to bed at 2:30 am so we would be shot for Bella...
At 9 am on Sunday the cell rings, it's my Dad and Bella was sick...she'd been up since 4 am and was inconsolable and pulling on her ears so we threw everything into a bag and we got on the road in about 8 minutes. WE pick up Bella and she is just flat out miserable...no fever though and through the day she seemed OK and I thought it might just be her teeth (runny nose and two of the bottom ones are FINALLY cutting)
Wake up today and she has a slight fever and diarrhea--so no daycare for her. But I HAVE to be on a train to work in like 20 minutes...I call DH crying that he has to come home. I call my sister crying because I can't even put her down without crying. Kristi showed up in 10 minutes and took care of Bella while I went to work to pretend to be a professional...the whole time trying to mindcheck if I put deodorant on (check)
DH took her to ped today (he couldn't take us yesterday...another long story) and she has a virus and a red throat (no strep) plus he pulled CHUNKS of wax out of her little ears...I raced home at 4 to be with her and she ONLY wants momma. I just don't know how I can keep it together anymore...
I can do work and Bella...but all the other life stuff is suffering. Friends, Bella's 1st birthday party, keeping up with the family, even staying 100% on top at work. There's this brown-noser that is just waiting for me to take 5 minutes to respond to an e-mail before he jumps in like knight in shining sh&t...I found myself trying to shove dinner down my throat while answering an e-mail...DH thinks I am losing it...and I think I am too...
Thanks for listening to me babble...I am so overwhelmed right now. I know it will pass...it's just suffocating sometimes...

Re: Calgon?--anyone
Believe me I know how you feel. I don't remember March until June. I am a teacher and it seemed like between my daughter's illnesses and the end of the year crunch. Have a new chair that is a ball buster. I just don't remember those months because it was pure HELL! I was stretched so thin that I barely had time for anyone or anything.
I hope little bella feels better soon and that Mommy can get a little reprieve.

Thanks Jamie...it just feels like a lot at once. Especially when the weekend isn't a weekend...I have so much coming up (shower, bachelorette brunch--skipping the party, my b-day that I share with a younger sister, Bella's b-day and work is insane), her being sick is so small but weighing so heavy on the rest of the pile...
I appreciate the hugs

Re: Calgon?--anyone
I wish you had a better weekend. Something is definitely going around virus-wise. This is the 3rd baby I've heard with similar symptoms.
I've been in similar shoes (although not the heels you wear, with a torn ligament & all). I know for me it was so hard being torn in a million different directions and trying to keep the balls in the air. I let the less important ones drop. Friends & family will understand (and in my case, even help plan a party when all h3ll was breaking loose).
Hope she feels better soon!

I know how you feel! DD is only 7 weeks old and I am already having a hard time spreading myself around - keeping up with family and friends is much harder now - and Im not even back to work, I cant imagine how thats going to be!
I am sorry you are so stressed. I hope little bella feels better quickly and that things settle down a little bit for you.

Aww Kelly
Take a deep breath and know that this will all pass soon.
Juggling everything really does s*ck the life out of you and sometimes you'll just have to do the best you can with what you have. The most important thing in your life now is your family (DH & Bella).
I soooo feel for you about work and such- i too have noticed that now with Sofia I can't seem to give it 100%. But I can't keep worrying about that- just have to do what you can.

I know how you feel. Some days things can get crazy, but you will get through them. Just remember that all that really matters is your family. Things will eventually calm down and you will probably be bored when they do! Alright, maybe not bored, but believe me it gets better. I hope Bella feels better soon.

Re: Calgon?--anyone
Noone can ever say that you aren't the most amazing mom and woman for all that you do. Very few people can pull it all off and you're pulling it off, as much as it feels like you're having a hard time with it at times.
I agree that if friends and family have to chill for a little bit, then so be it. I'm hoping it gets easier as they get older, and if it doesn't hopefully we'll just get better at juggling it all....
Remember, if you ever feel like you've had to much, it is OK to just blow everyone off and enjoy a weeend ALONE with your family and ignore all the "extra curricular" stuff....
Many Many Hugs Momma...you're amazing and don't forget it!!!

I'm so sorry your weekend didn't go well and the week started off so rough. I hope you get to unwind tonight and that you and Bella have a better day tomorrow. You're a great mom juggling all that you do. I would have snapped a long time ago. You are a super mom in my book!

Re: Calgon?--anyone
Awww Kelly, it's so normal to feel lik this at time, it will be OK. I'm realizing that all working moms will go through a period where they feel like they are being pulled in a thousand directions.
Nate was sick a couple of weeks ago for a week. I couldn't take one day off from work and DH was studying for the bar. Luckily my ILs were able to keep him from day care for us....I felt so guilty having to choose b/w him and work.
But you know what this too shall pass and things will get better....

Re: Calgon?--anyone
Just by reading your posts about Isabella I can see how much love you have for her. I give you so much to be able to do all that you do and you should be proud of yourself. Do you have any vacation time that you can take? Maybe a Thurs. & Fri. so you can have a long weekend just to relax a little and spend time with your DD and maybe DH if he can also take off. Hopefully this bug that she has passes soon.
