C-section mommies question: Scar...

I'm 3 months postpartum and my scar is still pretty pink. Is this normal? When or if does it begin to fade? I still put lotion on it and sometimes cocoa butter. Thanks! Forgot to ask at my last visit. Figured maybe you guys might know!

what lotion do you use?? I don't use anything. Wondering if a lotion would help. I'm about 3 months pp.

9 1/2 months PP and my scar is just now starting to fade. It's still visible, but its a thin white line. Although I don't do it everyday like I should, when I remember I apply Mederma to the scar.

Mine was pink for a long time, and it was sore too. I would say it took AT LEAST a year for it to look better. Now at almost 4 years pp it is barely visible...it's amazing what time can heal...

I was almost a year and a half post my first csection and the scar on my skin was pretty much faded, but I still had a "lip" above it from the scar inside.

This time they removed the scar tissue and did a different stitch so it will hopefully heal better, but my Dr. recommended using mederma

almost 8 months pp and it looks the same as the day I got this lovely little gift....Chat Icon

P.S. My skin takes an insanely long time to heal though so I may not be a good gauge..

Mine is barely visible after almost 2 years but I think it took close to a year before it really faded.

yeah sounds like it is, mine is the same. happened w/ my first, docs fixed it and happened again after my second. I think you can go to a dermatologist to fix it,

I had this, I was told by my dermatologist and OBGYN to put pure vitamin E on it, just buy those capsules, cut it and massage the vitamin in 2x a day, this is best to do while it's fresh within first 6 months to a year, not as effective later on. I started when I was 12 mo pp, it helped a bit, but I only did it once in a while bc I kept forgetting, so I ended up getting cortizone(spl) shots in my scar at my dermatologist's office , the scar smoothed out withing 1 month and was barely noticeable within 3 months. It's been 3.5 yrs and I can barely see it.
