Buying Baby Items

WWYD
I am in love with Ethan Allen furniture - it is pretty much all that I have in my house. If you saw a sale on a crib that was about $800 and it is down to $250 would you buy it?

In general also, has anyone bought anything thinking for the future? Anything for the baby or yourself??

Re: Buying Baby Items

I would b/c I do things like that.. I have a 22 month old DD and there was a sit & stand stroller on sale and on top of the sale I had a 20% off coupon soo.. I decided to buy it.. I bought it over the summer and I still do not have a BFP.... I kind of think in a way that I jinxed myself but on the other hand I couldn't give up such a good deal..HTHChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Buying Baby Items

It would kill me not to, but I wouldn't. Maybe I'm superstitious, but I would worry about it jinxing things. I've done A LOT of window and online looking, but haven't bought anything. I won't even by a "Daddy" onesie that I want to give DH to tell him the news until I get a BFP.

I would not. I am not superstitious but this is one thing I am adamant about. I will not buy anything for the baby until I know I am pregnant.

Personally, no.
I'm so not superstitious, but after TTC'ing for a year, i think if i had a crib sitting there for this long i'd start to feel like it was taunting me.
This process has been so hard for us, I feel like getting baby things prematurely will just make things harder since it's a reminder of what we don't have yet.
In the beginning we were joking around alot about names.. now we don't even do that anymore. I just feel like until i get that BFP, i'm not going to think about baby purchases.
