Bug bite or rash
Ds just developed a huge bump on his arm. It is red with a little blistery top. Feels warm to touch. I think it is a bug bite. Should i be callung the doc or just watch it?

Could be a spider bite. I would just keep an eye on it and if it doesn't get any better I would probably call the dr. You could put a cold compress on it to soothe it if it's bothering him.

That's what happens when I get mosquito bites. I use Benedryl gel (topical). You can also give Benedryl orally to help with the swelling.

DD has been getting these alot since August. Our Ped wasn't able to diagnose what kind of big bite other than it was definitely a bug or spider. She had one that got to be a big blister and that was infected and she got antibiotics and some rx topical creams but the ones that you are describing don't seem to be infected. I gave DD benadryl. Definitely keep an eye on it and when indoubt go to the dr.

Try the Benadryl cream like PP stated. If that doesn't work, go see your ped.
DD got tons of mosquito bites this summer, but the one on her face wouldn't go away and ended up turning into a staph infection in which she got topical antibiotic cream for and it went away in a week.

I went to ped. She had no clue what it was. Said to give benadryl and advil overnight to see if swelling and redness would go down. She also prescribed a cream. SIGH!@!

Ahh I just posted THE SAME thing a few weeks back about DD. There is a picture in my album of what it looked like that night. The swelling went down, but it took a few days.
She is still a bit red in that spot 3 weeks later and some scabs are still healing.
I took her to PM Pediatrics and they too had no idea what it was. They also said spider bite and to just keep an eye on it in case it spreads. They gave her Benadryl and that was it.
So weird....

Something similar happened to DS this weekend. He has a few of them. 1 on his arm and 2 on his legs. Thought at first mosquito bite but it has a little scabed pimple sort of thing. It's also sort of flared up again - like it seemed to be getting better then got a bit rashy again. It doesn't bother him though. I noticed them after my mil took him for a walk on Saturday. She would have noticed if a spider was crawling on him though.

Most likely a bug bite. DD gets that every time she gets a bite. Benadryl helps the swelling a lot.
