We put poopy diapers in a small seperate trash-one of the small simply human cans from bed bath beyond. We try but usually forget to take this trash out everyday but the trash can holds the smell in. if it didnt then i guess we wouldnt forget to empty it everyday then lol.

I used the diaper genie until she was about 18m or so then her poop was just too darn stinky to leave it a day. So we started to take it outside to the trash at each change (by this point we finally had a house and so we had that ability).
2 things that made it easier
#1 she only goes once a day (even at that point)
#2 she normally only goes while she's in school. So no poop at home.
Then by 3 we potty trained her and that was that.
I could NEVER imagine putting poop in our regular indoors trash  I mean her poop STUNK. Even with the diaper genie I wasn't opening that lid nearly as much as I do our normal trash so no way.

Someone bought us a diaper pail, but we never use it. Just put it in the regular kitchen garbage and throw it out every day or every other day.
It doesnt stink.

I use a plastic grocery store bag and run it outside!
I had the diaper dekor, however, rarely used it!

I buy those little blue bags from BJ's put them in there, tie it and garbage, garbage gets taken out every night!

i had a genie once, and i just couldn't stand the smell and maybe the idea of it.
so we now have a pail for #1. and wrap #2 in a grocery bag at the back door for the next person who leaves to take to the trash outside.

me too..I was afraid it would be stinky but it is not, at all. Also you can empty as often as you want ( there is a cutter that allows you to cut the bag whenever you want, you do not have to wait for it to be full) so if you don't like the idea of having stinky diapers in there too long, empty it more often.
same. we empty it once a week and have never had a smell issue. so glad my sister convinced me to try it!

same here.
We tried the diaper genie with DD but when it got full and you had to change it , a weeks worth of poop diapers was the WORST smell ever

we have saftey 1st easy saver diaper pail. it takes regular garbage bags. works great. doesnt smell. take it out every few days. we use to sleep in the same room with it and it never was an issue with smell.
im so glad we didnt have to buy any special bags for it. it just wouldnt work for us.

no way would i be able to carry DS in my arms, as well as tend to bringing a dirty diaper downstairs to the regular garbage with me. i'd end up making a mess of it i'm sure!
the diaper genie is right next to the changing table and it gets emptied whenever full. It has never smelled yet..

Same have the elite and love it. No smell issues here. Much more convenient then putting in bags each time then in the garbage.

I bought a simplehuman tall cylinder pail that we use as a diaper pail...only smell it for a second when you lift the lid and it doesn't look imposing, nor does it need any special bags...so far, so good..DD is seven months and eventually, if we want, we can use the can for something else...

we put them in waldbaums bags and bring them to the garbage ASAP!
In the beginning we used the diaper genie, but once she started food and the diapers got smelly it was useless

I had a diaper pal from DS#1 but always put the poopy diapers in grocery store shopping bags and out they go, if I put them in the diaper pal they stink up the room and it has to be emptied the same day anyways, I just use the diaper pal for pee diapers now.

the diaper pail worked for us up until about 14 months then i couldnt take the stentch anymore. Now we just throw it in our regular trash...it goes out every night or every other night (we throw the scooped kitty litter in there too) so we never have a problem with smell.

we use our regular garbage and if its super smelly than a platsic bag and in th eoutside trash. ive never had a problem with a few poop diapers in my inside garbage smelling
