Breastpumps and NYSHIP?
So, I heard Obama passed this law that insurance companies MUST cover breastpumps...I heard this from DH and sometimes he's a little fuzzy on details, so I'm wondering firstly if anyone heard this, and secondly, if anyone had any luck getting a pump covered through NYSHIP? I tried when DS was in NICU 2 years ago and no such luck.
Just called Edge Park and they are going to try to submit it, they said they *think* it will be covered, but you never know.
Thanks!

Re: Breastpumps and NYSHIP?
I just called my insurance company and they said that they only cover a breastpump if im discharged ffrom the hospital without my baby or diagnosed with inverted nipples, EdgePark got them to cover it 80% though, maybe try EdgePark, I don't know how they got the insurance company to cover it but as soon as my deductible was reached they covered it.

Thanks everyone. Yes, already called Edge Park and they are going to submit. Will take a few days so just wanted to get an idea if anyone else had tried with NYSHIP.

Re: Breastpumps and NYSHIP?
That's good to know b/c I called them about 2 months ago and was told it would not be covered. I'm due in Jan so i'm gonna try again. That's $300++ I don't want to spend. I'd rather spend it on baby's crib.
