Breastfeeding Tips and Registry Must Haves
I loved this board. I learned so much.My DD is 4 months and I wanted to share some things I learned.
The first few weeks are tough- such an adjustment, and exhausting, but it goes by sooo fast and is worth every second.
I am breastfeeding. If you want to breastfeed, my advice is try not to give up until at least 4-6 weeks. It's hard and demanding at first, but if you get to that point, it's really easy and convenient and worth it. You will be sore at first, but now it doesnt hurt at all. Get Earth Mama Angel Baby Nipple Butter to put on your cracked nipples. You can get it at a health store or Amazon. Also, Lanisoh Gel Soothies. They sell them at BBB and BRU. You put them in the fridge and put them on your nipples and again very soothing those first weeks.
Also, pump right away. I didn't get engorged at all and so many people say that's painful. Never happened to me and I think it was because I was nursing her or pumping every 2 hours (12 times a day!!) I never let my boobs get too filled up and I guess because of that, there wasnt any pain. So even if you dont want to give her bottles right away, I would pump and freeze right away to relieve any pain from engorgement. Also,my left nipple was really cracked and bleeding and hurt badly when she latched, so I would nurse on my right only for a few days and pump my left until it felt better.
If you dont have a pump yet, the Medela Pump in Style is really good. I would get the Medela bags that attach to the pump and you can freeze them. Very easy and convenient.
I also highly recommend the Fisher Price Rock and Play. It's very cheap and a lifesaver for sleeping. Infants LOVE this. Everyone I know who has it swears by it. It's great for napping or sleeping through the night and it's portable so you can bring it places. If your baby has trouble sleeping, I think she will LOVE this.
Wee-wee pads, or multi-use pad covers are great to go over the changing table so you dont have to keep washing the cover when she pees/poops/spits up on it!
Dr. Brown's Bottles are great.
Halo Sleep Sack
Aden and Anais blankets...great for swaddling, nursing cover, etc
Twilight Turtle
Good luck, ladies!
Oh, and KELLYMOM.COM
Breastfeeding guide!!!!!!!! Best site.

Also, wet tea bags and cod cabbage helps relieve pain from BFing in the beginning.
Warm showers also help relieve pain in the beginning.
Remember, the pain goes away!
When you pump, massage your boobs. You will get more out and help to avoid a clogged duct. Get a hands free bra (Medela has one) and pump at the same time.

I second everything you said! Also I used these: http://www.thehappycompany.com/catalog/product/208/ I warmed them up and put them in my bra for 5-10 minutes before pumping. Really made pumping easier and quicker.

Also, wet tea bags and cold cabbage helps relieve pain from BFing in the beginning.
Be careful with the cabbage leaves. Women use these to dry up their milk supply. (There's something in the cabbage that does this, but I'm not sure what). Use them sparingly if you're really engorged or have an oversupply.
