Breastfeeding and hard boobs lol
Okay,
I couldn't think of a better subject title. Okay, so my milk just came in and my daughter has been breasfeeding and latches on. However, my boobs are still sore and hurting. They are extremely hard on top and the sides and sore. Does this go away soon? My daughter is a week old today. Any suggestions on how to make them stop hurting so much, or at least make the pain more tolerable?

Hooray! Congratulations to you! Yes, you will be engorged from time to time, and it can take a few months for them to really calm down, but in the meantime you could always have a hot shower, stick some cabbage leaves in your bra, and I believe if its really painful, you can take whatever pain relief your doctor advises. Good luck! Keep up the good work!

Congrats!!!!!!! Often times, I'd find myself in a hot shower massaging my breasts and expressing milk to relieve the engorgement. If you have one that seems more full than another, try offering that one first. It'll get better!

Congrats!!! You could also try pumping just enough to relieve the pressure if you have a breast pump but don't completely drain your breast because that will signal your body to produce more milk. Like the PP said, your body will eventually regulate itself.

ITA!! This is when I would stock up a stash for when I needed it in the future!

My pediatrician said not to pump for a month until the supply has developed fully lol..

Congrats, oh I remeber when the milk came in how painful it was. It should only last a couple of days and then they will start to regulate based on how much you baby is eating.
