Breastfeeding?
Do you need special botteles to store breast milk, and if so...what kind would you recommend?

I pump into the Medela bottles (I have a Medela PIS) and store for the day in those bottles and long-term in the storage bags in the freezer...

No you don't they sell Medela 4 oz (I think they were if I remember correctly) bottles which you pump right into and can take with you. However it is actually easier to use the medela (or other brand) breastmilk storage bags - they can be a bit of a pain to pump into but they are much easier to store. Then you can either bring the bags (which sometime leak) with you when you go out or pour the milk into a bottle and bring it along that way with some ice.

Your pump will probably come with bottles to pump into. My Medela PIS came with 4 bottles; I use two to pump each time and can store in the other two if necessary. I hated pumping into the bags and now buy the cheaper brands of bags that are only storage since I use so many. You can use any bottles to feed that you want.

Yes this is correct - the pump comes with 4 bottles - and you can buy 2 ounce storage bottles too.
BTW if you have the pump in style medela pump - I was able to attach my Dr Browns narrow bottles directly to the pump and pump right into the bottle I would later use to feed DD. Not sure if any of the other bottles fit but if they have narrow necks they might (most are too wide to attach.
If you pump into the bags you can then put the milk into any bottle you want to - including the drop ins (although I never did that).

For long-term storage, I think the Lansinoh bags are the best. I found bottles that were compatible with my Medela pump and just pumped and fed from the same bottle. I know you can get a converter to hook Avent bottles up directly, you can use Playtex One-Step or you can get nipples for the Medela storage bottles and use those as feeding bottles, too.

Do you mean in the frig or freezer?
I used the lansinoh bags for the freezer. I would freeze them flat and then put a grouping of them in a zip lock bag with the month and year so that they weren't floating around loose. (I also numbered the bags so that I was sure that I used the oldest before moving on.)
If you're talking about the frig- I usually just put it in there in the medela bottles that came with the pump.

I did the same and it worked great with the pump. When I started bottles I used the Born Free and just pored them in.
