my girls are very high maintenance, divas, etc. Is it true boys are more easy going?

So far, yes, my 8 month old DS is very easy going. He's also very snuggly, it's really wonderful!

My DS was/is a pretty needy baby. He also is still obsessed with BF at 14 months old. Everyone always comments on how he loves to cuddle.

Things to know, I'd say be careful when changing his diapers. They will pee everywhere when they are newborns!

My DD and DS are complete and total polar opposites in both personality and behavior. My DD is now almost 7 and has always been a very easy, cautious, laid back, go with the flow type of kid. My DS on the other hand is FULL of energy, always on the move, very physical, and completely fearless.

He is just over 2 and so far I would say it's been a COMPLETELY different experience raising a little boy over a little girl. Having had my DD first and her being so easy we were spoiled, lol, but we've adjusted to life with a DS and it's been SO much fun having a little boy running around. He's a complete blast and although he can be exhausting he's also the sweetest, most loving, most cuddly little person in the world.

It's been a fun ride so far having one of each but for sure a completely different experience!! Chat Icon

I had two girls then a boy. Aside from the obvious Chat Icon , there is no difference, IMO, between boys and girls for about the first year--they're all like gender-neutral up until that point Chat Icon

My boy was different temperamentally from his sisters, but his sisters were temperamentally different from one another too. He had reflux for an entire year during which he would spit up at least half a dozen times a day, he had raging eczema, food allergies, and an extra tooth...none gender related. That's the first year.

Now, what you need to know otherwise...
The circumcision (if you're doing it) looks really horrific for a couple of days, tops. Then it's fine.
Penises are weird.
Clothes shopping is still fun! In fact, I spent more money on him!

Beyond the first year...
My boy looooved Thomas and cars; now he's four and loves superheroes, baseball, and the US presidents too.
His language skills and fine motor skills developed later than his sisters.
He loves playacting battles and fights. I'm like Chat Icon because where in the heck did he ever learn that?! Must be inborn!
He never stops talking (like his oldest sister), and he's got a serious temper sometimes.

Can I tell you I never even cared about having a boy and it took--I'm not even kidding--probably a year to adjust to the fact. Can I also tell you, I don't know what I would do without my little guy. In sum, he's the light of my life and the little mascot of our family. The amount of kisses and hugs he gets is ridiculous, and as a result...the best part of all is that he's THE most loving member of the family!Chat Icon

I have nothing to compare it to because I have 3 boys, soon to be 4... but mine are NOT laid back and easy going lol. I always heard that about girls actually! From the moment they wake up at the crack of dawn until bedtime, it's go go go. I think it really depends on the child. I'm hoping that boy number 4 will be a little more calm.

We used just a little vaseline. Only took a few days to heal, looks worse than it is. Chat Icon

They'll give you vaseline and gauze pads at the hospital to
change at every diaper change. I'd say by day 3-4, they didn't need it anymore. It really does heal quickly!

I wouldn't say boys are easy going - they need to be occupied. I have 3 and they are all very cuddly and love their snuggle time :)

Re: boy mamas...

They are def different.

My boy is a wild animal. Both kids are sweet & huggy but the boy climbs anything, jumps, covers self in dirt, sticks stuff in mouth & sockets. His dinosaurs pretend to eat my DD princesses.

DD is a natural diva (not like her mama).

Both are super close in age & were raised gender "neutral".

Re: boy mamas...

I have 2 girls then I had a boy. Even though he's only 3.5mths he's completely opposite of what both my girls were like. They always whined and cried and needed to be held and entertained every moment of the day. And now at 5&4 they're way worse lol
My son LOVES to smile and laugh. He seriously smiles ALL day long. I can just leave him in his seat or boppy for hours and he wouldn't make a peep. So much more calmer (for now though im sure)
