Birthday Party Gift Question
How much do you spend on one of your DC's friends for a birthday party? My DS is only 9 months, but he has lots of little friends from playgroups and the neighborhood. Obviously I'm now friends with the moms, but didn't know them before DS. We have a lot of bday parties coming up. None want anything particular, I know they have a ton of toys and clothes so I was thinking gift cards, but I hate doing that because the amount is so out there, LOL, where I can get a nice toy on sale sometimes. Just looking for a range of acceptable amounts.

It really depends on how close we are to the family. What I try to do is buy things on sale and stock up my gift closet so I might spend $18-20 on a toy that is 30 or more. In general I spend about 20. If both of my kids are invited I spend 40. If it is a closer friend I spend about 30 (but the gift usually cost more if I did not get it on sale).
