BF babies that don't poop everyday?

WE are on day #3 that she has not pooped....her farts STINK though.

Dr said it was nothing to worry about as long as when she does poop, it's not hard and formed (which would mean she's constipated).

We went through this with Miranda and they would say if she doesn't poop by day 5 bring her in and sure enough she always pooped by day 5.
Have you tried the thermometer trick?

it's totally normal for BF babies to go even 7-10 days between poops as long as like you said it's not hard and they're not straining. both my kids only went once a week. it was nice actually...less messy diapers to change!

Ds goes anywhere from 2-4 days between bowel movements. Only once was he really straining and it was very thick......not like a lump, but still it was not the norm. But the next one after was fine..........though I do supplement with about 12oz. of formula a day......but he still never goes regularly.

and is it ok for her to have such frequent gas with it?? most of the time she passes it easily but she does have times where she cries from the discomfort. I feel so bad...like its my fault b/c maybe I'm eating something he doesn't like.

And Jen...I did the thermometer trick earlier and sure enough out came some poop!!

we're going through this too.... I'm primarily BF'ing, but supplement with about 8 oz of formula a day.

I called my ped's office last week about it, and they said if he's constipated add a 1/2 oz of prune juice into his 2 oz formula bottle. it worked like a charm. he had his BM and no longer was squirming...

of course, check with your ped before doing something like that....
