BFed babies poop
My dd is 7 weeks and today her poop was green. Is this normal, diareah or something I ate? Also it's sooo liquidy all the time. I think that's normal, but I just wanted to make sure. TIA!

That sounds normal. It could and will probably look like very watery mustard with seeds at some point too.

Re: BFed babies poop
I was told by a mom on here, when it is green that is undigested bm - meaning it went through the babys system fast. and it was formilk not hinmilk. and to keep an eye on it. Normally it should be mustard color. DD gets green occasionally but shes now 3m old and healthy, so just keep an eye on it.

That's what I had read on the internet, about it being more of the foremilk. I wanted to ask on here to make sure. She had a pretty bad day yesterday, and I'm thinking she didn't nurse long enough at each breast to get the hindmilk. Would that make sense?

Yes, makes total sense. Do you pump? if you do, what i did was pump a bit then i let my dd latch to breast, that way i Knew she was getting more of the fatty milk.

Re: BFed babies poop
I had an overabundance of foremilk and saw green poops ALOT. My lactation consultant told me to try nursing DD off the same breast for 2 feedings.
Another thing you could do, DON'T switch back and forth between breasts. Let DC nurse for as long as possible on the one breast. Even if she pulls off to burp, put her back on that breast to continue the feeding. Pump out the other breast, then let DD nurse off that one for the next feeding.
Green poops every now and then is totally normal. It's when you see them consistently that you should let the PED know.

the green poop usually means too much foremilk, too little hindmilk. but having said that, the occasional green poop is common and harmless. just keep an eye on it to make sure that there aren't too many green ones in a row.

Exactly. It can also mean an allergy if it's green and frothy-like. DD went through a LONG period of green poops when she was born...she was getting WAY to much of my foremilk and had a milk protein allergy.

Re: BFed babies poop
It depends on what you eat. I was eating raw spinach for a few days and DS's poop turned green. I think it was from the extra iron in my diet.
