Best SUV ?
DH and I are in desperate need of a new car and we are thinking about leasing an SUV. Does anyone have a new SUV they love and can recommend? We were thinking about the Murano, Honda Pilot or a Explorer but haven't gotten a new car in forever so any recommendation will help!! TIA

I bought my Jeep Liberty a few months ago and love it!! It's a small SUV, which is good for me since I like to "zip" around!!

yup!!! well, its a smaller SUV, but i LOVE my toyota RAV4. SOOO nice!! DH is almost a foot taller than me, and we're both comfortable driving it, which is really important. its gets awesome gas mileage for an SUV ( about 24, 25 in town, sometimes up to 29 on the highway!). i have the 4 cylinder engine, but the pick up is great. i was originally gonna get the 6 cylinder, but then we both drove the 4 and were really impressed ( even DH who has a subaru WRX with a turbo). i seriously can't say enough good things about the RAV4... and its a toyota, they basically refuse to die

We have a Santa Fe and a Tuscon--both by Hyundai. I love them both (though the Tuscon being mine is my baby).
Great value for your money and really nice to drive.

How many passengers do you need to carry? What size are you looking for? Do you need/want 4 wheel drive/all wheel drive/2 wheel drive?
Is capacity or gas mileage the higher priority? Price range?

I think we are going to get a Nissan Rogue in a few weeks. Or at least that is what I want. The Mazda CX-7 is nice, but the gas mileage sucks. Also looking into the CRV.

I just bought a Saturn Outlook and love it. The top three in a recent Consumer Reports issue were the Pilot, Highlander and Outlook (in that order I think.)

My sister just got the Ford Edge and it is sooo nice! I would definitely recommend that. We have the Ford Escape and it has been great. We have an 02 and have never had any problems with it.

I have the '06 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and I love it! It's SO roomy, which is what I love best about it.
I had the Jeep Liberty before that and I loved that too.
I'm a jeep girl.

Love my Pilot! I had an Explorer, and I will never buy a Ford again. My brother had an Explorer, brand spanking new, his tranny had to be fixed 3x. My Explorer was brand new, had to have the entire tranny replaced after 35,000 miles. The ride was horrible.
The Pilot however drives smooth, had no major problems with it at all, come to think of it no minor problems either. Plus I love the built in Navigation System.

We are Jeep fans. DH likes a more rugged, yet fast SUV. He has the V8 High Output engine (he would be so proud that I remembered). He has a 2004.
The new Jeeps come with the Hemi engine and are just as fast if not faster. They have great off roading capabilities.
We have been extremely happy with it.

I just saw the Rogue for the 1st time on their site - NICE! have you test driven it yet?
I tested the CRV and really liked it. I love the look of the CX7 but it only comes in a 4 cyl turbo  not a fan... and it would require premium gas - no thanks!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the look of the Ford Edge! But I had a bad experience with a Ford years ago and can't get over it

We have the new Buick Enclave, its great, has a ton of room, seats 7 and has all the luxuries you'd need without the huge $$

the explorer is a great car. that car will drive over mountains of snow and is really easy to drive. DH used to have one - as does my dad.
i hear good things about the murano too - but never drove one.
good luck.
test them all out and see which one you love the most!

Personally i love the Land Rover LR3 and the Lincoln Avitatior but I think they discontinued that one now and are making the MKX or MKZ in it's place.
We are/were shopping around as well. We're looking to lease something, most likely an SUV also for space reasons.
