best 1st birthday gift?
It's for a friend's son, but he has a big brother just a few years older. I know they have tons of toys. What can I get that's special for him?

my nephew received a TON of ride-on toys for his first birthday so i'd def stay away from those.
i got him some bathtub toys (tub crayons, floating blocks, things that stick to the tub walls, etc) - nobody else got that.
for my niece's first birthday, i bought a bunch of books.

books. blocks, bath toys, anything personalized.
I have found even with two children of the same sex and close in age, I don't mind having doubles of things. They fight over everything and it makes my life a little easier

I was going to say the same thing until I read it was for a friend's son. Not sure if you're looking to spend that much (I doubt I would be to tell the truth) but DD LOVES hers, best gift she got hands down.

best 1st birthday gift?
I personalized hooded bath towel and some bath toys and crayons. My daughter got a water toy from fisher price that has a train track and stuff. It's the water sand toy but we just do water and she loves it. I small fisher price picnic table, some books that you can touch and they make the music, I also suggest Melissa and DOug toys. They are really nice

blocks. he got the megabloks dump truck from his godfather. at first he wans;t much into it. now, he pushes it around like a speed demon every day!
