Bermuda or Aruba?
Ok keep in mind we have a 1 year old to fly with, etc.
I was thinking Bermuda because I've been there before (dh has not) and loved it, plus the short plane ride (hour and a half)
I think Aruba is a 4.5 hr trip? This is what's holding me back the most, but other than that It seems to have everything, more affordable than Bermuda and guaranteed good weather...though I don't know if it would be too hot in the summer

Re: Bermuda or Aruba?
I LOVE Aruba. We just took DS there in Feb when he was 9 months. We have a timeshare at the Marriot and went with my in-laws so I did have help.
Safe island, great restaurants and pretty much everything is in walking distance.
Last time I went to Bermuda was HS graduation with friends. We were on a cruise and pretty much drank the whole time I do remember things were far from each other.
With Aruba... it's safe, lots of families, guaranteed weather, and affordable. JMO

Re: Bermuda or Aruba?
Thanks! We've never been to Aruba, but Bermuda is pretty formal, restaurants, etc. So that might be annoying with kids

Re: Bermuda or Aruba?
I love Aruba, have been there 4 times already. Flight is 4 hours, direct.
It is hot and has been a bit humid the past two years (out of the ordinary). Just gets breezy because of the tradewinds. Water is calm, so no problem to have baby at the beach.
We've stayed at the Hyatt and the Occidental Grande, both on Palm Beach.

Thanks. I guess 4 hrs isn't terrible. How hot is hot? I think breezy is good.
Which hotel did you like better? I was looking at the Hyatt

Re: Bermuda or Aruba?
We have been to Bermuda twice, one with kids and one without. We flew alone and cruised with kids. There is no rental cars on Bermuda. We took either the bus service (VERY long if you are crossing the island as it stops many times) or the Ferry. We LOVE Bermuda and would go again in a second. I also have never been to Aruba so I can not compare but I have heard that it is really nice there too. I don't think you will make a bad decision with either of these islands :)

Re: Bermuda or Aruba?
another vote for Aruba! go every year to my parents timeshare (marriott) and it is guaranteed great weather. we dont rent a car bec everything is in walking distance! last time we went with 2.5 yr old and 11 mo old and they LOVED it! All restaurants are kid friendly!
The longer plane ride will be over before you know it and will def be worth it!

That's where our timeshare is too!
Like the other PP said (including myself)... I think Aruba is better for families and a beautiful and safe island. You should look into a timeshare if you can. Extra room, kitchen, etc

Re: Bermuda or Aruba?
DH did not like Aruba - VERY WINDY. He *hates* when sand is blowing up in his face. Said it would have been great except for the wind which they are known for.
Bermuda is absolute PARADISE and such a nice place. The kind of place where you don't have to worry if you leave the resort - just gorgeous.

Hot - in the mid to upper 80's. It is supposed to be around 82 year round. I like the Hyatt - can't really compare it to the Occidental which is all inclusive. The Radisson is nice and there is the new Riu as well. I'm not a fan of the Occidental, we only stay there for convenience when we travel with friends who have a time share there.
