Oh I forgot it gets better. Not only do all the sheets, pillow cases, comforter, and curtains match. I specifically picked my bedroom wall color to compliment the bedding. I am a sick individual

It's all over. For everyday wear on the bed - I use the old stuff, since between the dogs, cat and the baby - nothing stays clean.
When company's coming over, I break out the super expensive duvet set with the foo-foo pillows, etc.

After what I spent on the bedding set and curtains/pillows OMG this set it staying for a loooooooong time. At least thats what DH says

Yes, everything matches. I only buy sheets in a color that matches one in my duvet cover. The window treatments match too. I'm going to have a problem when we do our construction and get an extra window because the set has been discontinued

I mix and match solid colors that compliment each other and the decor of the room.
I wouldn't throw out the set completely. I'd probably look for a seperate solid color fitted sheet to match your top sheet and pillow cases.
