Don't even tell them about the party. If they ask, say "what party?". or tell them there is a party in DH's pants but they are not invited.

ITA! Maybe 1 day works better than the other that weekend for them, so this way they can choose which they can make or he would better enjoy!

Good point!

I was originally going to say the family party..since their child is 6...and hanging with a bunch of 3 year olds might not be too fun.
