bday party for 2 Y/O
I'm looking for ideas for DS bday party - its far away but I would like to decide and plan it before  arrives. The kids that would be invited are between 6 mths to 3 yrs and it would probably be about 10 kids. I was thinking of a gymboree party but never been to one - any reviews? Any other suggestions of places to look at for that age? I definitely want it at a place and not my house - due date is 4 weeks before DS bday so I want as little stress as possible!!

We are havin our twins 2nd birthday at White Post Farms in Melville. They do everything for you, favors, cake, decorations, food....everything. I wanted stress free too.

i'm thinking about having it at the little gym. i think it's good for that age group. white post farms is also, but can get really expensive.

I think gymbroee is great for a 2 year old party - I like that they have free play but also do things together

My DS was the 9m old. He could walk but it was tough for him. He could not really explore and play since the other kids were runnign around and would have trampled him if I wasn't constantly picking him up. The older kids had a blast but for the few real young ones it wasn't.

We just had my son's birthday party at My Gym and they did a great job accommodating all ages! Our age range was from 3 months to 9 years and everyone had a great time.

We had our son's 2nd bday party at Le Play Cafe and it was perfect! I think it's a great place for a party when you don't have a huge amount of kids (I think we had 11) and when the age group is young. Feel free to FM any questions!

We had my DD's 1st bday party at Gymboree in Westbury this past January. They did an amazing job! What I liked about it the most was that after we had food/cake, the kids were allowed to go out and play for another half hour before the party was over instead of just leaving right after.
I've also had parties for my DS at Le Play Cafe (his 2nd) and White Post Farms (3rd). Both were great experiences. I liked WPF because you can spend the rest of the day in the farm after the party. We spent a few hours there afterwards with some friends. DS loved it. If you have any specific questions, feel free to FM me.

try Abby's Village Square. Its' an adorable miniature play village built just for preschool children. It has a "real life" diner, supermarket and fire house along with a fire truck and a slide. It is the perfect place for a two year old birthday party.

We have served and been served pizza at most of those party places.
We had DS#1's 2nd birthday party at Moon Soup in Manhattan. We had DS#2's 2nd party at My Gym this year. You can't go wrong with Gymboree or My Gym type places.

My son just turned 2 and we've been going to a bunch of birthday parties. He's had fun at Gymboree and My Gym. We had his party at Wood Kingdom farmingdale yesterday and had a blast. One of the reasons I chose Wood kingdom is you can bring in whatever outside food you want for adults (kids pizza is included). It was important to us since we had a few kosher people, etc. We brought in wraps, fruit salad platter, and a sheet cake.
The "eating" area in My Gym huntington is a little tough for 2 year olds. Its a bench with a table that is too high (like head height) but my son ate his pizza and cake anyways. :)
