The way I see it, the man had plenty of opportunities to put his hands up and surrender.
Seems the new rule is you don't have to put your hands up or surrender to a cop. You can run, flee, fight them, try to carjack people, tussle with the cops, and then when they use force against you, you and your family cry foul.
New rules of this country...

This is so so so scary. To watch your children be driven away and not be able to do anything about it is absolutely horrifying. Thank God the cop acted quickly and saved them, but my DH thinks he may get fired because apparently its a rule they're not supposed to shoot at a moving vehicle.  I really hope he doesn't lose his job over this. What else was he supposed to do? Just let the guy drive off with those kids?

The family member is deterring the attention. The Fact of the matter is he wasn't tasered nor shot bc of " stealing" vs
" robbing" from best buy.
This all occurred when he resisted arrest and fled from cops trying to get into cars and found one with 2 kids. Notice that part was ignored.
He's lucky the cops got him vs momma bear ;)

One less POS in the world. I have zero sympathy for animals like this. You have to be real scum to run from cops and hijack a car with innocent children in it. People like this are capable of ANYTHING. Good people do not get into situations like this ever. The cops are heroes in my eyes.

I'm going to say this wasn't his first run in with the law.... Oh well. Maybe if he didn't carjack the car, he'd be alive today.

It was a female officer. It's not like she was going to over power this man any step of the way. It was him or those kids, she did the right thing, regardless of the law, IMO.

If I was that mother, I would feel so grateful that cop was there. To see your kids in a car taking off with a criminal must have been so traumatizing. Watching a cop shoot into your car with your kids in it and then knowing that your babies witnessed a man being shot is horrifying. It makes me sick just thinking about it.
All of this over headphones. Headphones! So stupid.

omg his Facebook page! I am scared that I live on Long Island with people that say things like "an angel gained". And his cover pics of a woman in handcuffs naked getting raped? Wow he seems really awesome an unstanding. A real angel. I don't feel bad for him in the least. And if he lived and got out in a few years god knows what he would do. Disgusting. If that was my child I would be glad he was dead.
