Re: Basinett

You dont need to get it. I have one, John slept in it 2x. Register for a pack and play, use it as a basinet in your room. She will be in there for a while as opposed to the basinet which maybe only 3 months

they can go into the crib but most usually want the baby close to them for the nightly feedings also they are used to small areas think of where they have been for the last 9 months :) IF you out them right into the crib you should us a divider so its not such a large are for them :)

Re: Basinett

I got a travel crib for my bedroom. It was smaller than the bassinet or pack and play. I will keep the pack and play downstairs for naps, and hopefully use the travel crib until I feel baby is ready for the regular crib.

Its a lot easier to have them in the room with you. Most people transition to the crib by 3 months. We also got the snuggle nest, it went in our bed, it was great when he was getting up alot and I couldnt really move because of my c-section.

Re: Basinett

We had our daughter in one for the first 2 months and it was great. It's small, so we could keep it in our bedroom next to the bed without it taking up too much room. And it was on wheels, so I could reach out and roll her closer to me without getting out of bed if I needed to.

I used a bassinet and in fact we still use one - our nursery was done in time (pics in my album) but we wanted her in our room for a while - I am EBF so it helps that I can just reach next to the bed and pick her up, feed her and go right back to sleep without getting out of bed unless I have to. Honestly it is also nice b.c I can check on her also without getting out of bed.

She has been sleeping thru the night for a few weeks now - but I just hate to transfer her to the crib - I will probably do so next month.

My DS (and soon DD), went right into his crib and slept there at night. MIL was insistent on getting us a bassinet which he used a couple of times and hated it. We are only taking it out for DD because we want MIL to see we are using it. For us, it was a waste.
